Ask the Experts / Windows 8 - can't save any scenarios/parks

Hi guys

 

 

I just installed RCT2 with Windows 8 and changed already the settings in compatibility mode (running now with Windows 7 SP 2) and the game itself runs properly. The only thing, and this is actually the worst is, that I cannot save any games or scenarios. It always shows an error, saying that the scenario or folder is damaged.

 

I also tried to open a downloaded park, but this isn't working as well. I also tried to de-install RCT2, but this isn't working, wonder why?!

 

Can anyone help who is playing the game with Windows 8 as well?

 

 

Would love to hear back from you and playing the game after a long time again.

Might want to try running as administrator

Try installing it outside the program files folder.

I had the same problem post Windows 8.1. I run as administrator, tried all the compatibility settings, everything. Even uninstalled and re-installed. However, I made another file folder in my RCT2 folder to save games to and this works for me. At least for now. I wanted to post because this has been plaguing me for months. 

I can save fine from another folder, but I can't alt-tab and start another prgram, such as 8cars. Any Ideas? Sorry for the double post!
