Anyway, here is the list of the 2013 Golden Ticket Award winners for park and ride. A click away are the wood and steel coaster rankings.

Anything surprise you, pleasantly or otherwise? How did your local/favorite park do?

Magnum XL in the top 10 of steel rollercoaster, for real? And Outlaw Run way too low in the top 10 woodies!

Magnum was the worst steel coaster I've ever ridden.

Golden Tickets are what the Academy Awards are for movies.

yeah, magnum is easily the worst hyper coaster I've been on. And I've been on...four

I reckon the results are a little skewed towards america, but whatever, everyone knows that golden tickets are sort of crap. just a nice thing for parks to put up outside their attractions (and dollywood is sure going to have a lot!)

That is easy to understand, if you see what coasters they have. But I can easily make a top 10 steel American rollercoasters without Magnum in it.

A little skewed towards America? It's heavily skewed to America. I've always had the opinion that they are absolute crap because of this. I mean their voting consists of America split into 4 geographical regions and then International. Bit biased much. I don't get why they don't just make it out and out america.

There's shit loads of decent coasters in Asia & Europe that could make it into that Top 10 easily, same as parks. But ah well.

Like these awards have any meaning as you can only do this properly if you have done all rides and lets face it, how many people have done this? It will always be a heavily biased list. At least Europa Park is named as 2nd best park in the world.

Yeah I was surprised to see a European park so high up in the rankings. Europa really deserve it.

Asia wasn't even mentioned once, and it has some fantastic parks (Leofoo Village, anyone?)

best park in asia is clearly disneysea, but the happy valleys and lotte world/everland are probably the next best bet.

I thought leofoo was cute as far as themeing goes (where I was thinking it could have been voted on), and deserved to be at least considered. But Disneysea and lotte world absolutely as well should both be considered for a whole lot more than, well, nothing.
