Hello,
I have two questions:
1) In my park I have a scenario set I'm not using, and I'd like to switch it out for a different one (e.g. I have pirates themeing but haven't used any of the objects and want to use a different set). Is there any way to do this without having to switch out individual scenery elements? I noticed that overwriting the hex for the scenery group in RCT2SGM doesn't do the trick, it just orphans the scenery objects from the original set to the misc tab, and since there aren't actually objects from the other set present the new catagory doesn't even show up.
If I do have to do it piecemeal, is there a list anywhere of which object files go with which scenery set? I could go through the objects manually in datchecker but that would...suck. In this case, I would need to find the names of the Pirates themeing objects and start replacing them with objects from the set I am missing (Wonderland).
2) How do I get one of those hi-res map views that are shown in the submitted park pages? Are there computer or display requirements for getting a certain resolution of the map? I have noticed some can be zoomed into and others can not.
Thank you in advance for any assistance. -

1. Using parkdat to switch out all of the objects in a group isn't really very hard. Tutorial here in case you don't know how to use parkdat. Download link is somewhere in that topic.
2. Just take individual screenshots of the whole park and piece them together. The design team only make hi-res overviews of parks that win accolades.
I hope I answered your questions. -

1) Use ParkDat, you can find the DAT file that is the pirate theme group and switch it for another group. All the objects in the pirate theme will go into the ? tab.
2) we make them by hand stitching zoomed in screenshots together. -

I had some extra spots in the 'G' category, so I added the Wonderland theme group. That didn't add any of the scenery objects though. What's the easiest way to find out which objects in my objdata folder are in that group? When I find them will I need to add them individually to their corresponding category? -

^ Make a new scenario and put the scenery objects you wish for in there.
Start the scenario and save it.
Now you can open it with parkdat and then you can see the datnames of the scenery pieces.
Open your current project with parkdat and start switching scenery. -

No offense to Arjan, but this is a terrible idea:^ Make a new scenario and put the scenery objects you wish for in there.
Start the scenario and save it.
Now you can open it with parkdat and then you can see the datnames of the scenery pieces.
Open your current project with parkdat and start switching scenery.
With parkdat, open a savegame that you know contains the objects you need. Really easy in the case of these objects. In another parkdat window, open your own park. You can now search for the right objects in one window and add them in the other. I could do it within seconds... -

^ Lol...
Forgive me... i'm getting old.
For my own use i've made savegames from all the objects in my tabs and use those with parkdat.
