Daft Punk killed it at the Grammys. Same with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Although I like both acts, I don't think they deserved all they got.

An album that I only recently discovered, but was released in September 2013:
Repave - Volcano Choir
Justin Vernon from Bon Iver with guys from Collections of Colonies of Bees. Sonically flawless, and autotune is actually put to good use. If you're a Bon Iver fan you'll love this.
1. Trouble Will Find Me - The National
If this doesn't win "Best Alternative Album" at the Grammy Awards, I will punch a child.
So whose kid will you be punching?

Whichever one of them actually knows/enjoys the musical stylings of Vampire Weekend.
Honestly though, their new album was definitely pretty good, but not as good as The National's. Pretty pissed.

How about 2014? Anyone have a favorite album of this year yet?
I'm going to throw out After The Disco by Broken Bells. Even though the second half is sort of weak compared to the first half (after about 3 listens), it's great stuff. I recommend any and all of the first 5 songs.

I got only one 2014 album yet: Kaleidoscope by Transatlantic. It's decent and predictable. A 6,5-7,0. I expect there will be better albums to come. I'm looking forward A LOT to the new Seventh Wonder, but I doubt there are others here who know that band. Excellent, extremely melodic and fun progmetal.

MorganFan. Were we at the same concert?
Nevermind, just realised that was posted ~2 weeks before I went. Saw them with Young the Giant in NYC.

Only one i got thus far is Warpaint by Warpaint.
Not as good as The Fool is (next design hint) but still pretty fantastic, and an early contender for my favorite of the year, well...the earliest of all contenders, really....

Recently got into Amok by Atoms for Peace, a conglomeration of Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich (Radiohead), Flea (RHCP), Joey Waronker (REM) and Mauro Refosco. If there are any Radiohead fans, it's like a cleaner, more stripped down version of The King of Limbs with heavy bass riffs, complex percussion parts, and Yorke's falsetto layered over top. All in all a solid 9/10 album, even if it's over a year old. Highlights: Default, Ingenue, Reverse Running, and Amok.
