Make a thread with the entries so we can see how each member votes. That way it'll be even more exciting when the entries go from anonymous to known.

Wow, 8 entries? Pretty good turnout for the starting round. I guess the idea of not letting 90% of the community into the contest from the get-go wasn't a bad idea.

Good to hear about the 8 entries and the strong start here, but I can't even begin to fathom how that elite category is relevant and not viewed as bias. Sure only two out of the four admins qualified automatically, but the two that did qualify aren't even as good as the two that didn't. If anything posix and gee should be in there before Louis and Liam. For a site that prides itself on its history how are you guys saying that since Louis made an above average design a few months ago, he is more worthy than people like Xcoaster, SAcoasterfreak, Fatha', JKay, etc, etc, etc, who made some of the best parks of all time. I think if any one of those guys (plus many not listed) came back here and wanted to build a park for the finals it would be absurd to make them have to qualify in order to do so

Anyway, this is just my opinion and I'm not looking for anyone to respond to it or start an argument. I'm just putting that opinion out there. I appreciate the effort Louis and Liam are putting into this for us to enjoy and I think that alone could have warranted them to automatically qualify. But calling yourself "elite" on a strictly RCT basis over some of the people you left off that list is absurd

About the anonymity rule: is it therefore not possible to have another member help you out with hacking something? I have a very limited knowledge of hacks and I can't do some of the things that I'd like to without the help of some of the more knowledgable members here... it would be a shame if I'd have to leave things out of my submission!

The elite were solely picked if one had a release that scored 80% or higher. It has nothing to do of how skilled one is truly because that would be too subjective I believe.

This is of course allowed. You just need to inform us when you submit who has helped you out.

The anonymity rule regards 'public' viewing. It's up to the creators whether they want to spread their ideas and stuff around privately, we can't rule over what gets sent in PM's and instant messaging etc.

I know how to zero clearances and MOM some stuff, but I don't have a clue on how to create custom flats or invisible shoestring coasters and stuff of that nature.

I don't get how it can be viewed as bias. Everyone in the elite category got there by the same means. Had we added in other people after, or even not used this system, people in the elite category would be subjective, and therefore it would be bias.

We chose this way as it is the easiest, least bias, way of getting current members of high quality.

All your other points have been discussed previously in the topic. But also thanks for informing me that I am not as good as my fellow admins and other members, I personally already knew this, but it's always nice to have it pointed out by other people. Much love.

Sorry for the personal call out, I didn't mean it that way. Plus putting you at the bottom of that list of four is far from an insult. I see that you are trying to get more active members qualified and I understand how you chose to do that, I'm just saying you should have also at least allowed people with spotlights from the pre scoring era to enter because they deserve it more than some of the people currently there

It's biased because even you admit there are people who didn't make it that are better than you. But you guys categorized elite in a way that includes you in that group while leaving those people out

So to try to put my point simply; yes I believe everyone in the elite category deserves to be in the elite category. But there are also other people who are MUCH more deserving than the people in the current group. The "elite" category should have included all of these people not just you current guys

The process they used to find the Elite is systematic. How could it be biased or subjective? Yes, members like SAC should be included but when's the last time we've seen him even post, let alone show a screenshot or play the game at all? The way the admin team selected the Elite players is the best way to find the current top players while not playing favorites. I don't understand why people find this so hard to grasp. If people don't agree with it, then stop complaining and don't participate. It's as simple as that.

That being said...people need to just let it go at this point. Pro Tour 4 is in motion. Enjoy it while it's going, because all good things come to an end.
