So I didn't get a chance to finish my post.

I'll admit I was trying to instigate some kind of argument with my post. Do I really care that much? No. While I do think that the criteria for 'elite' was biased, I don't really care about that. I do think there could have been another way to try to make the qualifiers more relevant. I also think 'elite' is a loaded title and would've been better off as just qualifiers. It's almost like making the distinction between parkmakers and non-parkmakers again.

@Pacificoaster some of the points you make about my parkmaking applies to why I think the people who qualify could've been chosen more relevantly. Some players prefer to participate in contests (like myself) versus making parks through the accolade system, and the way this was chosen takes away from that. Parkmakers in the past also earned their spots through contests if that's what this system tried to emulate. Not saying I'm anywhere close to deserving a qualifier spot here.


But that stuff is really irrelevant and I was just using that to poke some fucking life into this site. What really turns me off from the contest is that there's a set bench. If the concern is everyone starting at the same time, that's impossible. Players could just start now and then later send the objects onto the bench. And there's LL. There really is no good reason to use a set bench and you end up just limiting the entries and participants.

Anyways, everyone else's passion has kinda inspired me to reconsider making a prelim.

Hehe, if I'm gonna send in something it will probably be for the last prelim round. It took me since monday to install a Virtual Machine. Didn't even install windows yet

Not to re-fan the controversy fires here, but how are you going to assure anonymity with the submissions coming in via PM? It seems like that detail could use more thought; at least push all the PM submissions through a non-judging Admin (posix/gee) rather than you or liam so that the voters get anonymous entries but someone official still knows who did what.

The contest is being run by myself and Liam, as Posix and Gee have very little time. For that reason, entries will remain anonymous to all but Liam and I. This is similar to how it worked in H2H, where even though parks were anonymous, we both knew who had built on what as we had to do the preperation work.
