Pro Tour 4 / Pro Tour 4 Rules & Regulations

    Lol... all this bitching...

Of course the admins have thought about this.
The rules are clear and i don't see any problems in those either.
If you want to participate, then go ahead and try your best.
If you don't want to participate... then don't.
If you feel like you can't compete with the 'elite',then accept that and stop whining.

The only thing that i don't like is a set bench with only 5 items to change.
That's why i decided, NOT to participate...

    Make a decision...

    It's up to you.

^I'm also a sucker for working with my own benches only, but I don't make such a fuzz about it; I just see it as a challenge to working with objects I'm not used to work with and having to improvise for objects I'm missing..

    Build in LL. What bench?
  • Milo%s's Photo
Hell yeah, I'm 25% done with my entry already. Chumps.

But in all seriousness, the admins have tried to find a way to watermark a bench but it just isn't possible. So a fixed bench is the only reasonable workaround to getting everyone started on the same page.

OKAY EVERYONE, CHANGE OF PLAN: WE'RE ALL DOING WHAT DR DIRT WANTS INSTEAD

You really do make some of the most annoying posts.
  • Pacificoaster%s's Photo
You guys remember that one time that dr dirt never submitted anything for an accolade... oh yea me too. good times.
  • Twiggy%s's Photo
I understand that some of you don't agree with dr dirt's opinion, whether he said with a harsh attitude or not, but we have to respect each other's opinions. We are a community. Be nice. Pretty please, with a cherry on top?

I keep trying to open the bench in LL but it isn't working? This is greatly disappointing and it looks like I won't be able to compete.

    :p

Whilst I can see where people are coming from, as mentioned previously, the Pro Tour format has always been about trying to find the best parkmaker on the site.

I think the 80%+ score is a fair way of judging who is "elite" although I would have liked to have seen members that have earned a spotlight over the years given the elite privilege. The fact it is the highest (and arguably hardest) accolade to achieve should be enough to prove someone as elite.

Instead of complaining, just take the contest for what it is. The admins have obviously put a lot of time and effort into organising it and their decisions should be respected. I had a blast during the first incarnation of this contest building in the prelim rounds. I implore everyone to enter as many of the rounds as they can, even the other elite members that earned an automatic place in the final.

I'm sure everybody will enjoy it once it gets fully under way.

80% because it's the closest criteria we have to the old parkmaker status:
    - spotlight =~ 80%+ accolade
    - NE3 system: spotlight --> parkmaker --> pro tour qualification
    - NE4 system: 80%+ accolade (--> elite) --> pro tour qualification
    That's my reasoning.

Regarding the bench: the bench is set and the deadline is tight; it's a tough contest. There's no contest or challenge if there's no 'dealing with something', however, so deal with it! :) If you qualify for the main round, whether it be by the elite or by the prelim route, you've proven to be skilled. One skill that you will need in this contest is problem-solving, so dealing with the limitations of this contest should not be an issue.

EDIT: ... AND incapable of basic reading comprehension?

i skimmed the rules of a contest i'm not entering and missed a single sentence, fucking sue me

... and then proceeded to bitch about something that was already covered. You owe me money.

Well, he's a very good player, so I don't really see the need to go there.

i swear if someone else also makes a chairift i'll be mad
  • CoolCody%s's Photo
Coupon gonna be mad at me. Anyway has anyone else found themselves slacking off? I'm just now starting on my entry prelim.
  • nin%s's Photo
We can just end this now and give me the title. I've already completed one of my prelim entries.
  • Pacificoaster%s's Photo
No argument there zburns. He is a great player indeed. However if he would decide to release something apart from a competition setting he may be included in the "elite". I can list many players that are just as great if not better, like yourself and nin, but if the majority of what he builds comes from team competitions there isn't much to prove his solo potential. Therefore, by Pro Tour being a competition based around a single player's ability, the qualifications to be categorized within the elite are completely justifiable.

i really don't see how a single sentence can be construed as "bitching". i non-aggressively stated a single thought that happened to be redundant. if what i did upset you you're either confusing my behavior for the other doctor's or you need much thicker skin.
  • Milo%s's Photo
Yeah but Dr_D, that's the pot calling the kettle black on thick skin. You weren't bitching initially but you certainly couldn't take robbie's jab at your easily avoidable mistake
  • Liampie%s's Photo
I like a bit of moderate quarelling every now and then, but this is just silly. Make prelims, not war!
