The nominations are collected over the entire year. Final nominations are compiled and sorted and then we let members who have backstage access look over the and give their comments. Then the very final list is released.

I really enjoyed Thunderclap and Nightingale, my two favorite designs of the year. I am somewhat partial to woodies, as they're the first coasters I ever rode. Nightingale really reminds me of the rickety hills of The Legend, in Holiday World (Santa Claus, Indiana, US).

I recently joined and am looking forward to submitting some of my own designs! Here's to 2013, but it'll be hard to top 2012, methinks.
