I am feeling festive today, so I am listening to the score from The Muppets Christmas Carol (which I think is the best Christmas film of all time!!)

I'm listening to some random radiohead song that's on this CD I made....this particular CD has covers, collaborations, and various un-released material, so I have to clue which song this is, but it's cool nonetheless. The last song I remember hearing on this CD that I really recognized was "This Mess We're In", a duet between Thom and PJ Harvey. Now that's a sweet song...their voices blend very, very well IMO.

I'm listening to the Martin Gore solo album off his website - its a thousand times better than David Gahan's solo - and a thousand times worse than the last Depeche Mode album (making David Gahan's two thousand times worse, obviously).

Truthfully though, none of the Depeche Mode members can go it alone. They all have a small handful of genuinely wonderful qualities - and they suck at everything else. As a band, they cover each others weakness brilliantly, so that only the wonderful shines through.

Sadly, however, they claim there are only going to be two or three more (at the most) Depeche Mode albums left. But, then again, two or three more Depeche Mode records are better than nothing, right?

    Yeah...

So, just wondering, is there anyone out there who doesn't like Depeche Mode (so that I might publicly insult their great lack of musical taste?)

Antipop consortium - Places I've never been - Antipop vs Matthew Shipp

...pretty song! Yes, and I got this CD for birthday - which reminds me that Christmas is comming up in a couple of months - meaning I'll get another $200 to spend on stuff - probably will get more CDs, a few DVDs and maybe a book or two.

Then again, I do need a new portable CD player - any recomendations for under $100 (or even under $50, for that matter)?

I'm looking for playback and headphone quality above all else, while skip-protection is not as important, however its the next most important thing to me. Style doesn't mean much, but it certainly makes a player more appealing.

    Yeah.

And I don't want or need any sort of MP3 playing ability, or even an AM/FM tuner. Just a CD player!

I would get an iPod, if I actually used MP3s and could afford it. Unfortunitely, I do not use MP3s and I cannot afford it (I said the $50 to $100 price range, remember?).
