Okay guys so at the moment here is the sort of idea we have concerning future podcasts, just to answer a few issues pointed out so far:


We plan on releasing a new podcast every 2 weeks, but we will be trying to keep them between 20 - 30 minutes, we don't want them to be huge, and seeing as I'm editing all the audio I'm gonna be honest and say I won't have the time/energy in the coming weeks and months to do much more than that, sorry.


THE GRAPHICS ON THE PODCAST AT THE MOMENT WERE MADE IN ABOUT 30 SECONDS BY MYSELF, I AM NOT A GRAPHICS ARTIST AND WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY AVAILABLE AT THE TIME, HOPEFULLY IN THE FUTURE THIS WILL BE DIFFERENT.


Louis is meant to be introducing the guests and things like that, but seeing as it was the first podcast he kinda skipped over it at the start, which is why he made sure he mentioned names at the end of the podcast.


I will continue to censor swearing that I consider 'bad' because we want this to be accessible to all ages really, there is no need to include the swearing as it doesn't really add anything to the discussion.


An outtakes video will appear when we have done enough podcasts and I have enough material to make into a decent sized video, there are some good things already just in the first one (Especially how I got us all to sync the audio at the start).


For all those interested in being a part of a podcast in the future, please PM me expressing your interest and I'll explain what we would want you to do and see how many people would actually be up for it. I've already contacted a few people who seem to want to partake so that's cool.


Just one final note, I really like that people seem to be enjoying this. One thing I have to ask is does everyone think the style we went for was okay, in that where I was sort of trying to direct the conversation by asking questions and directing them at specific people? Or should we in future just let it roll as a more flowing conversation and then just cut out the awkward silences?

Yeah, audio editing is no fun but I don't believe you should trim down to under 30 mins IF there's good conversation on the topic that goes past that time (up to 45 mins). If it's wrapped up before then, so be it. People listening while building is a good thought and a half hour to hour length is perfectly reasonable in my eyes if the content warrants it.

Once every two weeks is a great plan, not overly ambitious but enough to keep people interested. I'd like to see an official podcast topic with dates and stuff.

I still say censorship is pretty meh, I mean the idea that it has to be PG 13 or whatever is odd to me. Most likely it'll be current members listening and very few outsiders and this board is well known for pretty much having any and all language barring hate speech and excessive anger. A censored fuck but an uncensored shit 5 minutes later just doesn't feel all that cohesive either. If you really believe in it that's fine. I just feel it's unnecessary and would be one less thing to do to trim down on editing work.

I won't be trimming down the conversation if it's all relevant or interesting to listen to. I think I cut out about half a minute worth of audio from within the actual podcast. The audio from before and after the podcast will be in an outtakes video at some point.

Well, if I get the nod from Louis, I'd be more than happy to set up an official podcast topic.


Where I'm from 'shit' isn't really a profanity and so I didn't see that as a problem. You said that 'most likely it'll be current members listening' but that's what we're trying to go against. I'm trying to extend our reach across the internet and pull in new members from where ever possible and it just makes more sense to censor any f-bombs in case some people are against it. I don't really think it takes away that much from the discussion because you can quite easily tell what the word was, but by covering it up as we did it at least shows that we are making the effort to make it more accessible to everyone. I hope that makes it at least a little more understandable as to why we're doing it, there is a reason we have suddenly peaked interest in our Facebook, started our Twitter and the podcasts (And more things in the future) on the Youtube channel!

Fair enough trav, but if it's about bringing people to the community, giving a false sense of community attitude isn't the best thing either. If people listen to the podcast and then come here and see me dropping F-bombs left and right, like I'm prone to do, then I'd hope they aren't too shocked.

The irony here is that I actually have had problems with certain podcasts in the past going a little crazy (porn sound clips in the background and shit like that) that does make it hard to listen to publicly. So do understand where you're coming from in wanting to make it as accessible as possible then what you're doing is probably the best common ground idea. If you're committed to that cause then go for it. I'd still say the majority of activity is from NE members either current or past.

Also, where I come from the people who would want you to censor fuck would probably include shit as well. Everyone else wouldn't give a fucking shit.

Yea I mentioned it elsewhere but a better way to discuss the casts should really be set up.
It'd even be cool to maybe have like something in the banner up top? Like a hey, new podcast, click here to listen and discuss. Maybe that's an NE7 thing

^I think the banner should remain exclusive to releases. A notice on the front page would be good though. By the way, listened to the podcast and loved it. It's cool to hear the voices of people I've been talking with for 2.5 years for the first time. Some good commentary and funny stuff guys. God work.

I was just surprised! Felt like the voice didn't match the photos I've seen, hahah. Sounded very professional though, dude. Out of the four speakers in the podcast, you had the most sense of purpose in your tone. Almost could picture you talking in a documentary for Disney parks!

You did Nin, I was surprised with that. The Brits had a way stronger accent than I was expecting haha. I guess Jeremy Clarkson and Chris Harris and all my other favorite brits I'm used to hearing don't quite have as thick an accent.

Quite a good podcast, really made me want to play some RCT and procrastinate on my lab report Good subject matter and length as well, really gave a good insight as to where you guys think the game is heading in the future. Wasn't too surprised by the accents, I have a few Brits in my classes (as well as one for a calculus professor). Hope to listen to more of these in the future

Ok.... Im gonna rule myself out of ever doing a podcast. Im not going to confuse you guys by talking normal nor am i going to humiliate myself by trying to speak in a way you will understand. Podcast was fine. I agree with milo.

I can't believe I just listened to 30 minutes of some people talking RCT theory. It's a little awkward. Can't deny that I enjoyed it though! Looking forward to hearing more of this.

-An intro section where each person introduces who they are and the hosts introduce the topic. I know we all know eachother but it still gives a chance for us to know whose voice is whose quickly and helps anyone who stumbles on the podcast. You guys had a good outro so just bookend the podcast with some formal introductions. Shoutouts at the end are always something to do as well.

-Set up a schedule. In my experience if a bi weekly or once a month or even weekly schedule isn't set up it is a lot harder to keep something going. Having a set day or at least a set weekend would help potential guests set aside time to do a recording.

-A podcast topic on the forum that has its first post updated with a link to each new podcast regularly as well as the schedule. It's also a place to ask for topics, guests and for people to discuss things. Just about every other community podcasters do this on their respective forums.

-I think shooting for more of a half hour or even 45 minute show would be nice, at least occasionally.

-Censoring F-bombs is kinda meh if you ask me, unless it's being done ironically in which case I guess it's ok.

Podcasts will be every 2 weeks like trav said. Podcast topic can be set up. And they wont be more than 30mins really, perhaps a couple of longer ones here and there, but we want to keep them short and sweet.

The censoring was meant to censor ALL swear words so that we didn't register as 'adult' content on youtube, thus widening our reach. Trav, only censored the fuck though, and not the shit's. So that's something he may have to do in future, or we wont bother censoring.

I want to be in the next podcast. I have a pretty decent Batman voice imitation.

I highly enjoyed this podcast, and glad everyone seems to like it. I will admit that I probably should have spoke up more, voiced my views, etc, but this is only the first recording. If I end up sticking around you gents will continue to hear me.

Outtakes are a must. There's some funny shit that didn't make it in.

That's why I want you on regular, not just a guest, because you have a great voice and gavea good performance. And yes, the funny shit is hilarious.

Again, it was more to do with not registering as adult content on youtube to widen our reach. I agree with shit needing to be bleeped too.

All in all, it was a great podcast, the next one we've got planned should be just as good, and I hope everyone will be looking forward to it.
