My deepest sympathy goes out to all of the families affected.. I can't even imagine.
28 dead, 18-20 of them children ages 5-9..
The shooter's mother was the kindergarten teacher at the school, and also the class the shooter went into..
Absolutley devestating. This may be the saddest news I've ever heard..
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected.

Why does stuff like this keep happening in the United States?
Why is it so easy to just walk around carrying a gun in your country? I don't get it. -
Corkscrewy Offline
Same way it's easy to get any illegal substance..
They just found the shooters brother dead at his house..
This is getting absolutley ridiculous.. I have no idea why this is becoming a more and more common occurance.
Makes me absolutley sick. What can you really do tho? If you ban guns that won't solve anything. It's like drugs, if people want to get them they still will. So I'd rather have officials be able to carry guns as well. I'm wondering how hard it would be to have all schools completly locked and you need a card to get in. Like many businesses have. I also know of a school that uses this system. -

I don't care about illegal substances, you can't walk into an elementary school with drugs and shoot children with it. -

I love those redneck assholes who are like "Drugs are the worst thing in the world! But don't take away my guns, my beer, or my cigarettes! Don't let gays get married! Down with the immigrants!"
Fuck those people. -

I'm just making the point that bad people can get those types of things. I was trying to get across that banning guns wouldn't solve this because you know that's going to be brought up plenty after this. -

True, but to be honest, I don't think those people are the ones that do this shooting things.
But I always thought Americans that are actually IN FAVOUR of gun possession only existed on TV. Turns out there are really people that think that way. -

I personally know a lot of people who have guns and would hate the world if they were taken away. -

If people want guns they're going to get them whether they're legal or not. So, personally for me, I'd rather that they're legal so that people can still defend themselves and others from the fucking nut jobs out there. -

I've always thought that 'carrying a gun because you never know when you might need to defend yourself' is just like carrying around a set of crutches for when you might suddenly break both of your legs. -

This is something that angers me quite a lot.
Sorry Corkscrewy I'm going to pick on your post here.If people want guns they're going to get them whether they're legal or not.
This is the main argument that i see used. This is In my opinion rubbish. Yes some people will still get guns but if gun laws are done properly then you find thats it's really not as easy as you think. I don't have statistics on hand but the I imagine the majority of gun related crime in the UK is gang related. Gangs who have the know how and contacts to do just that. Gangs don't as a general rule go into schools and kill kids. I imagine Mr Joe Bloggs on the street in the UK wouldn't have the faintest Idea to go about getting a gun. I may be wrong here but I certainly don't.
For all I know Louis And Loopy have whole caches of guns at their houses, although i suspect not.
Now here's the other side. I personally think the US is too far down the road to just ban guns. It can't and won't happen. So, personally for me, I'd rather that they're legal so that people can still defend themselves and others from the fucking nut jobs out there.
BUT why is it legal for people to buy semi automatics and high powered rifles.
If you insist on having a gun to protect your house and property then fine. but a pistol will do the job you don't need a semi automatic rifle.
The way I see it is that the US citizens want guns to protect themselves from the nutjobs that those very same gun laws gave guns to. This makes no sense to me at all.
I am genuinely waiting for the NRA or the Republicans to say "if the school teachers carried guns this wouldn't happen" -

The amount of fucked up here is insane.
I'm at a loss for words...
Edit-regarding the Connecticut incident. -

@Roomie - I have already seen a couple instances of people seriously demanding that teachers be provided guns. I just don't comprehend how they don't foresee accidents happening in that case, or that the children will still have to watch someone die even if the teachers have guns. There's still going to be fear and anxiety.
Then there's the whole "It's not a gun control issue, it's a stupid/mentally ill people control issue." So if that's the case, that means we need to spend more money on welfare, rehab, and education. Yet for some reason they are staunchly against that too. Whatever. -

If one of the adults who worked in the school had a gun on them, the entire thing could have been prevented. IT IS A PROVEN FACT THAT AREAS WITH MORE GUNS HAVE LOWER CRIME RATES!! Fuck all you people who want to take away are Constitutional right to protect ourselves.
Edit: By the way, guns are the easiest thing in the country to purchase on the black market, my friend saw an illegal gun sale happening in the middle of the street in Hawaii. Do you ignorant gun control freaks honestly think that criminals won't break the law to get guns?! THEY'RE FUCKING CRIMINALS!!!!! They won't follow the fucking law! Laws only affect law abiding citizens. Making guns illegal just prevents law abiding citizens from protecting themselves from criminals who get guns illegally. -

^ That isnt always true man.
I know in my HS there were atleast 4 cops full time, each with a taser and handgun and supposidly even a shotgun they kept locked up. All 5 other HS schools in my district were the same way. It's not like that would have helped at an elementary school.
(I also knew two teachers carried guns illegally, one was a former cop and one was ex military) -

I definetly respect that Roomie and only posted what I said from what I know in the US. It just seems that it's far to easy for anyone to get a gun even in the legal sense. I've never been to the UK so thank you for the insight. I have no idea how gun control/use is over there. Which is what I based my comment on. From what I see in this country it seems that way to me. What works in one country might not work in another. It all depends on the people and the lifestyle if you ask me. I know a few people who have semi automatic rifles and is it to much? yes. I believe it's to much. But they look at it more of a hobby. Some people take pride in a car, or a jet ski, or 4 wheeler or ect ect. It's an expensive 'toy' I know toy isn't what I should say when referring to a gun but that's what it is when you buy an AK-47. I hope I'm getting my point across here somewhat. And with the growing popularity in shooting ranges and clubs in this country I really don't see this going away.

No, fuck you. This guy killed his father before walking on campus, walked into a kindergarten class, shot his mother(the kindergarten teacher), and shot innocent kids.
1. People like this don't give a fuck if every single person at the school is holding 300 grenades and 67 AK-47s.
2. Why would he be afraid if someone had a gun on campus, when he clearly didn't care if he died?
3. Fuck the constitution. This isn't 1787. The stupid rules are flawed, and America is extremely flawed.
4. He started by opening fire on a class with 1 female teacher and kindergarten students.
5. Most parents don't want their children going to a school with a ton of adults with guns on them.
Like I said earlier, we had someone with a knife stab 22 children a day ago in China. No one died. Today we had 18+ children die to someone with HANDGUNS and a rifle. Not an automatic rifle. Fuck guns. I'm sick of this nonsense.
Also, why are they interviewing children? What the fuck?
Also, they ruined someone's life by releasing the wrong name earlier. His facebook and twitter is being flooded by millions of hate mail.
