So I was thinking of finally getting back into RCT2, except I'd like to do it with mods and stuff this time. What mods will I need to download? Not every single one, but the basic ones that everyone should have. I'm thinking like 8cars, Son of Beast, Parkdat, and stuff like that. Thanks for your help! -

You'll need 8-cars v1.32 and v1.302
Parkdat is also quite usefull to have and learn. -

There is a problem with this file I had discovered a while ago. There is only one 8carsfunc.dll file for all versions in this file. Each version of 8 Cars per Trainer requires a different 8carsfunc.dll file. -

I don't have any problems with all the versions of 8-cars. Can use all options with every version. -

Object editor has proved to be pretty useful for me as well.
Btw, Arjan, do you know when to use v1.32 vs v.1.302? Someone told me a while ago but I forgot. -

^^ I don't know all ,but there are some differences.
For instance: 132 has a mountain tool (raise mountains like in scenario editor) and 1302 hasn't.
If you use zero-clearance ,then better use 1302 ,because it's more stable and gives less chance getting blackholes.
If you use Geewhzz hut hack then you'll need 132 to make the ride invisible ,because 1302 can't.
And there's also a difference when you merge rides ,but i don't know ,because i haven't merged rides myself yet. -

^ Awesome thanks, that sounds right as I remember.
Actually I had one more quick question. I heard a lot of people saying that zero clearance on Win 7 causes more errors. So I've been transferring my parks over to my old laptop that still has XP to do zero clearance (and merging for that matter). This is because I guess I never really knew what people meant by "errors", so I was just playing it safe.
Is it ok use zero clearance on Win 7 so long as I just save plenty before hand? Black holes only happen because you do improper zero clearancing right? Like, zero clearancing twice before restoring clearance. -

I don't know much about Windows 7 (i'm using XP).
Blackholes just happen ,it doesn't really matter what you do.
Always make multiple savegames and save before zero-clearancing ,that's what i do ,because if it screws up (blackhole or whatever),then you can go back to your last save.
