Seriously can't wait. I'm surprised nobody brought it up yet.I'm trying to finish Agencia in 2013 summer sometime as well. Will be working on a lot of it this winter break. Don't know if it is spotlight caliber yet but I'm hoping so.

Agencia is a good one! Also, I still hope to see XCoaster's Eldritch Vale finished sometime; that's a certain winner if you ask me. And Turtle's Disneyland? Secret group parks? Semi-secret LL group parks? Maybe the Flying Germans will pick up Southport again (we should). Gijssie could win if he finished a bigger park. And since we have comebacks each year, why can't that be eyeamthu next year? The community may have shrunk a little but there is still a lot to get excited for. -

id like to think detailing plays the largest role in not finishing full scale parks anymore. especially sizes around 150x150, i doubt there will many of those in the future years.
Will there be a spotlight? hopefully, id say the chances are higher then they are lower, so i reckon we will see one.
Just throwing this out there, but idk about some of you guys but rct has lost all fun in building for me. games such as skyrim, borderlands, killing floor and any other rpg's on the market atm are just so much more enjoyable. call me lazy but its more enjoyable to do whatever you want in these games rather then following many of the "guidelines" in rct now (detail, realistic appeal etc) for what many people call good rct. sure i love looking and judging submissions but the building appeal? gone completely. idk but thats me, its to much of a burden to have to place "custom fence base © magnus" over and over again when i doubt anyone is going to notice them.
Also try and remember that this game is exceptionally old, the fan base continually gets smaller and it seems to be only the hardcore players still reguarly building. Imagine if all the people that bought black ops 2 bought rct2/ll instead (Which would be the better option as cod is shithouse) there would be spotlights popping up left right and centre. but then a part of me enjoys this small commnity NE has, theres better communication between many of the members and the site as a whole is top notch. (Always been my number 1 bookmark on chrome). id also like to think that people actually read each others posts and dont just skim read, but thats just me.

Stad der zonden and about two or three other reservoir dogs parks.Well what is it then ?
Although, I doubt BG will finish Gnome County, I think it has the highest chance of getting finished. -

^It could also be something else, of former RD's, which was started before/and not for h2h.
I'm not too worried about it, I'd love to see it finished but I fear it won't. -

The bar is just so high on spotlights I think it makes people rather do designs or small parks. The panel is definitely something that must intimidate people. I know when Sonoma got a 78% my own desire to try and make a spotlight plummeted. Is it a bad thing? idk, just it does seem pretty hard to win an NE Spotlight.
I am pretty sure there will be more spotlights. Pac will win one. He was telling me that DAW was just a good and not a great park before its release, so I would expect his solo just being a gold to him really means it will win spotlight and score around 97% I guess I am going for spotlight with Logos. It's just 70x70, but imo uses its space very well. I would not have even consider the possibility of it having a chance if it was not for V-Key, which actually was just 8 yes votes shy of winning NE Spotlight.
A sure way to get NE Spotlights would be to have a contest like H2H, just instead of a bunch of mini parks a team makes one park. Maybe like 6 teams of 6 players, just you could not really have a draft. It's not likely people would work well if just picked onto a team, might want to have a recruiting process. After like a year of building each team gets their park judged by the AP members that did not participate and the highest scoring entry gets some type of prize. I would expect the top parks to win NE Spotlight that way. Would really be just like the NEDC, just not solo work. It's to much to ask for a 100% solo effort on a NE Spotlight if there is a deadline.
All this spotlight talk is kinda making me want to get DR3 back on the drawing board -

I'm working on a 256x256 park, but it probably will take 4 more years to finish, and I don't think it's gonna be spotlight quality... -

I've always been against the detailistic style. One because I can't get good atmospheres out of it and two because it kills the community by burning out players. But when I ask what people think of a NCSO contest (which while not doing away with detailing completely at least reduces it) ...nobody's interested. People want detailing. They think their parks are not worthy if they don't use more 1/4 than full square objects on average. Really annoys me. -

Detail doesn't win a spotlight, atmosphere and concept does.
I also don't believe it to be the panelists fault for the lack of spotlights, or the increase in detail, it's purely down to our progression of the game. Which I believe is the best thing that's ever happened to the community.
Yes we have less releases now and spotlights are few, but the way we've taken the game forward is incredible. -

Insanity had some amazing NCSO stuff... Like, mind blowingly good. Not quite spotlight material but still damn impressive. -

This is actually a really good idea I think, if you can get enough people to participate. It's something a little new that hasn't really been done before and it tweaks the team building concept a bit without losing the competitive aspect. Basically an entire season's worth of H2H parks combined onto one map. The tricky part would be deciding how much time to allow since it's basically a one-shot deal. Playoffs would have to be something smaller though, or no playoffs, just rank the parks and call it a season. I'd be intrigued by this idea if I were still building. I'm sure you'd get some incredible parks at the end.
