Whats up guys? Been a while since I played some RCT but i want to get back into it. I got my RCT disks from home, as I want to play at college. However, Im having some issues with the installation. Im running Windows 7.
Anyways, to the point. I tried installing RCT2 and the setup wizard quit on me before the game was finished installing . Yet it still gave me the option to run the game and so I did. But it was extremely laggy and didnt run well at all. So i figured it was an issue with the fact that the setup stopped abruptly. I went to uninstall it, and got the message saying the program was uninstalled correctly. Yet "RollerCoaster Tycoon 2" still exists in the control panel (program list). So i tried to uninstall it again, same thing. "Program uninstalled successfully," or something like that yet its still in the list of programs. I then restarted my PC in attempt to fix this, but to no avail. I even went into the Program Files and deleted everything to do with RCT2.
I dont understand why this is happening. I just wanna build some coasters! any help would be really appreciated! -

You can't uninstall RCT2 normally as far as I know. I'm not sure how to help if deleting it all didn't work, because it did for me but good luck. -

Delete the game folder from Program Files, then try 'uninstalling' it through Add/Remove Programs again. It should say that Windows can't find the uninstaller program, and then ask you if you want to remove the entry from your registry (or 'list of installed programs.') -

Google "CCleaner" (under Tools > Uninstall) and "Revo Uninstaller". Latter is more thorough and might help. Former is able to detect more apps and operates faster (because less thorough). -

Do you have Vista?, I had that trouble. I manually deleted the second version. It's Under User/????/AppData/Local/
Virtual Store/Program Files/Infogames -

@seleya - I recently did this, I searched my entire OS for files related to RCT2 and deleted every last one, including in the location you specified. However, it still appears among the list of installed programs on the control panel and wont go away no matter how many times I run the "uninstaller." I will try to reinstall the game when I get back home though. Thanks for the reply.
And posix, I'll try that as well. Thanks for the suggestion.
