(Archive) Advertising District / First Big Project: Navy Land

This summer I will start my first "big" project witch is "Navy Land", this project is in honor of my favorite musician and I have to work hard to get an accolade on this project!
The map would be something like this:

1. Entrance
2. Barbados Downtown
3. Roller Coaster Zone (witch is unnamed atm)
4. Attractions Zone
5. Food and WC's Zone
6. Stage
7. V.I.P Zone (seats)
8. Crowd Zone
 This project is not a park as you can see now, is a festival, I had ideas from Rock In Rio Lisbon, but remember, this is not a recreation, this would be completely different than Rock In Rio.
The architecture on the "Barbados Downtown" is based on Barbados.
The scenery of the stage would be about Illuminati.
The scenery of the coaster and attractions zone would be about music.

EDIT: I'm sick of seeing parks with the same conception, ok they are good parks but I wanna see different conceptions, originality, not parks like Six Flags or Disney, they are great but how many parks like that are in NE? The only original parks that I see are from H2H. That's the reason I wanna make this different project. I'm not seeing the problem but I respect your opinion...

I don't see how making a park about one of the biggest corporate "artists" worldwide borders on originality, but - have fun!

Rihanna absolutely sucks. She is everything that is wrong with today's music. She is definately not a musician, she is far from being a musician since she can't sing and does not play an instrument in any way. And yes, the only reason I am reacting in this way is because you haven't shown any RCT screens yet.

possibly if you did more of a music festival theme then maybe this would go over well with the rest of the crowd.

I've always wanted to see a Wizard of Oz park, where everything in one area is all sepia, and everything in the other area would be all colorful and psychedelic.

BC I'm interested in seeing how you will realize this park as the theme is original if not a bit unusual (Casimir, have you seen a park themed to a pop star? Didn't think so). Build to your heart's content and don't doubt what you will build just because of the idiots in this thread.

I'm especially interested in the barbados downtown; if you can get that atmosphere right it can be pretty cool.

To be honest, I'm getting kind of annoyed by the repetition of that statement. The real question is how many GOOD Six Flags or Disney parks are there on this site? Well in my opinion, three Six Flags parks (Six Flags Worlds of Excitement, Six Flags Carolina, and Six Flags Santa Fe) and one Disney park (Disney Air). While there may be an abundance of both, only a select few are great. If anything our site needs MORE Disney parks. With the screens both robbie92 and disneylandian192 have shown in the past year, I would say the community is on the right track to top Disney Air and revolutionize the architecture that can be created in RCT2.

Previous Disney spotlight releases such as Tilted Acres, DisneySeas, and the LL Disney spotlights aren't considered 'good'? They definitely have aged and the current state of RCT allows for a much more detailed take on Disney, for sure, but viewed in context, those parks were (and most still are) fantastic.

About the revolution of architecture in RCT2: this can be applied to realism but why does realism have to follow Six Flags or Disney trends? I for one am a big fan of realistic parks that don't take on the generic look and feel of these chains. I guess it should be called 'idealism', where you create the ideal park in a realistic fashion. And when applied to fantasy, well... the sky's the limit, isn't it?

Maybe rethink the name... this makes me think of the ''heyo captain jack!'' metrosexual kind of navy, rather than Rihanna.


Also the theme, maybe go for a music festival rather than a focus on óne (terrible) artist. You could do a lot more creative stuff if you widen your subject.


Furthermore, imho you don't really have the position to comment on the lack of ''creative'' parks as long as you can't top them. Maybe if you'd take some time skimming through the database you'd notice we have turkish resorts, bedrooms, bridges, full size golf courses, stadiums and you name it in the database. It's all there, you just have to want to see it.

Build your park and enjoy it.
Like you also said, don't go with the flow, be special in your own way.
Great achivers are the ones that DON'T go with the flow ,but create there own.
Mimic the usual stuff here ,like most of the users demand, won't make you an artist.
