I rate your players but to be fair I don't think there's a real team spirit. The media always hypes you guys up to no end and when you have the likes of John Terry on your team it doesn't exactly make you very sympathetic

THis is pretty much true.... Although for the life of me I can't figure out why Henderson replaced Lampard... Andrew Johnson may not get many games but hes streets better.

I think Gomez will be chosen over Klose tbh, he's a lot younger and I just think it'll work better.

Ozil will be chosen over Gotze for now, but I would definitely say that come 2014, Gotze will have surpassed Ozil.

But yeah, on the English team, this is my starting 11:

Keeper - Joe Hart > Robert Green > Jack Butland
Left Back - Leighton Baines > Ashley Cole
Right Back - (Micah Richards) > (Kyle Walker) > Glen Johnson
Centre Back - Jolean Lescott + Phil Jones > John Terry > Phil Jagielka > Gary Cahill
Left Mid - Oxlade Chamberlain > Steward Downing
Right Mid - Theo Walcott > (Adam Johnson) > (Aaron Lennon) > Ashley Young
Centre Mid - (Jack Wilshere) > Steven Gerrard + Scott Parker > James Milner > Frank Lampard
    Forwards - Rooney + Welbeck > (Crouch) > Defoe > Carroll

The names in brackets are the people who aren't actually being taken (For whatever reason) to the Euros but who I think are better than people who are being taken.

Interesting to see the English squad and how an English fan would rate the players. To be honest I don't know much about most of the English players as I hardly follow the Premier League.

Yeah one would probably guess that Gomez is going to start over Klose, but as long as Klose manages to get fit by the start of the Euros he'll definitely start. Klose fits the system better as Gomez is solely a poacher. Klose does add another dimension to our game by supporting the likes of Özil and co. Having said that though, Gomez still delivers for the national team. I surely wouldn't mind to see him start as he does deserve it as well.

I think that's how Löw sees it anyway.

At the moment there is absolutely no doubt Özil will start ahead of Götze. Not only is Özil still the better player but also Götze isn't back to his best yet after having been injured for a while. Also I'd say if everything goes right then in a couple of years Özil, Reuz, and Götze should all three be starting together as they're all amaaaazingly talented. The hype around Götze has been immense though.

Who saw Poland - Greece? Opening ceremony was shit. Game was shit. Going to watch Russia - Czech Republic in a few minutes, should be a little better... Hopefully. Tomorrow's matches will be, at least. Group of death! :X
  • ScOtLaNdS_FiNeSt%s's Photo
It wasn't the best game and it sure as hell wasn't the worst i've seen. Least we seen 2 goals :p Czech v russia should be a good game :) I hope russia win because that diving bastard kadlec dived and got a penalty against us and scotland didn't qualify.
  • JJ%s's Photo
    Where's the 'noone' option?
  • ScOtLaNdS_FiNeSt%s's Photo
Now that was a good match, Russia may just be the dark horse of this tournament. Kerzhakov ? fucking shocking ... The amount of chances he missed and a striker of his quality should have finished them easily. Good start by the Czechs dominated this first 10 minutes but just do not have the quality of players russia has.

Man of the match for me was dzagoev.

Looking forward to the matches tomorrow.

Poland was terrible. They started off and after the goal my brother and I predicted it to become like 3-0. I predicted 1-0 so I was happy but then Greece scored and now I gotta change nearly all the scores in the poule because I sure as hell don't know how far greece will make it. I gotta say that those greece players are quite terrible, they kept bodyslamming and tackling. The polish players weren't much better though.

I predicted 3-0 for Russia so at least I got the winner right for 25 points..

@Liam, I honestly am not so sure anymore of the 'poule of death' thing. Germany is beast and the netherlands has a fair chance. Portugal is terrible lately and Denmark isn't bad but I don't think they got enough to qualify for the quarters. I'm more excited for spains poule actually.
  • Fisch%s's Photo
well the group of death has #2, #3, #9, and #10 of the world in it. I wouldn't really say Denmark or Portugal lack quality.

by the way according to the current fifa rankings uruguay is #2 in the world atm which is absolute bullshit. :D So I just used the rankings from a couple of weeks ago.
  • chorkiel%s's Photo
^The Fifa rankings don't resemble current team qualities. Portugal has been playing quite bad as of lately in the friendly matchups. They also seem unable to score.

Yeah, Denmark and Portugal are obviously a little weaker than The Netherlands and Germany, but they're still quite good. Surprises happen all the time, maybe it's Denmark this time. At our cost. I cannot imagine Germany not getting through... Group C indeed and group D are quite exiting. Group C has two obvious favourites though, Spain and Italy, while in group D anyone can go through. I want Sweden to do well. Not just because I like their female audience, but because I like the team and Sweden in general. Don't care about the others.

Czech Republic versus Russia was a great game, by the way. Russia was better, but Czech Republic (sadly not as good as 5-10 years ago) did their best. The game was very clean and very fast-paced. More fun than most world cup matches two years ago. :)

    I'm excited for tonight.

Great. Now even the national team gets dragged down to a general Robben style!
  • leonidas%s's Photo
This is just painful to watch..

    EDIT.. Pathetic failure.
  • trav%s's Photo
    LOL @ Netherlands.
  • Casimir%s's Photo
Guys, seriously. Just don't let Robben play, he just can't do it anymore!
  • trav%s's Photo
So true. I wonder how many more goals the Netherlands would score if Robben wasn't allowed to shoot.
  • FredD%s's Photo
Bye bye Euro 2012 Netherlands  Pretty sure they will lose against Germany and I can't see the Dutchmen win against Portugal either.

Here you go. I think The Netherlands were the superior team, especially in the first 15 minutes and the first 15 minutes of the second half. It was actually pretty football again. Partially because Denmark was passive, but still, it was clean and tidy. But the rest was chaos. I'm a sad panda.
