    No, it's not possible unfortunately.

    Incorrect.

    Shoe-string it and control the speed with it in that manner. Then you just have to build the visable track with chain on it and you are done.
  • Louis!%s's Photo
    Well yes, I know if you shoestring it, I meant there is no conventional, easy, 'click of a button' way to do it.

    Not getting drafted in H2H6 has its advantages, for example the fact I can work on on my solo project. As many Dutch players will know the chances of me ever finishing this specific project are rather slim, and H2H would have made the odds even less favorable. Momentarily, I have high hopes that this park will be sent in for release within half a year. We'll see I guess.

    Now, first a screen that I believe I showed before on NE a couple a years ago, but if so that was only in the dump place, so guess there's no harm in reposting it:

    [attachment=8271:Screennr10.PNG]

    And two screens of the fairytale area, a rather important part of the park:

    [attachment=8272:Screennr11.PNG]
    Some old, small/rather cramped work. Think I'll keep it this way, not so much because its up to standards, but because it's a bit of personal park building history.

    One corner of the ''sprookjesplein'' (fairytale square.). The concept/feeling of it is, once again, inspired by part of the Efteling (herautenplein, for those who know the park).

    Hopefully some more actual ride updates in a week or two.
  • posix%s's Photo
    I mean, it's not bad. But I feel you've shown us the same things throughout the topic. Does this park have rides?
  • Ruben%s's Photo
    I totally get what you mean, and already tried to point it out in the last post by saying ''Hopefully some more actual ride updates... etc''.

    The thing is I only just learned to correctly make ride entrances invisible, and still have to apply it. This still has to happen to all flatrides, as well as for example the park train stations/splash station. There's a rapid river on which I still have to make the track invisible, and a water coaster where I still have to solve some hacking issues.

    So, simply said: Very fair comment, hopefully that'll change soon. Thing is this is mostly old stuff, and the old stuff that was in fact completed was surroundings rather than rides. :)
  • Ruben%s's Photo
    Okay.... so it's a ride but not a ride. I hoped I'd be able to show a coaster/waterride by now but I really wasn't into hacking. However, I think it's at least in some aspects different.

    It is in fact a haunted mansion. Supposed to be show-based, like for example ''het spookslot'' in de Efteling. Themed after a castle. Usually I really don't enjoy creating bigger/more complex structures, but this one was pretty okay to do. Worth it?

    [attachment=8807:Screennr13.PNG]

    P.s. don't mind foliage in top/bottom of screen. Surroundings are still a wip
  • Liampie%s's Photo
    I remember you making a haunted mansion very similar to this, like five years ago?

    I think the basic shape is good, but the building desperately needs some defining details. And some colour, perhaps. Maybe add some trees to the shrub patches to make it look more like an actual forest.
  • Ruben%s's Photo
    Meh, it was the same color combi and I have used the wooden window frames before. Other than that it's actually not much alike (Ruins vs. total castle, covered in vines vs. no vines, now more use of other textures etc.). Thing is that one was already meant for this park, but I knocked it down at the time because the placement was totally off. This is a v2.0, thus its quite possible it has a similar feel. (can't wáít to finish this project and create fully new stuff rather than constantly redo old stuff)

    I see what you mean though, struggling with adding more (senseful) details with the current bench. Thought of changing the tower (lower left) into a (partially) wooden version, other than that I'm kinda stuck.

    So.... happen to have some more specific suggestions for improvement? It'd really help.
  • Liampie%s's Photo
    Send me the file I can add some spice if you like. :D
  • Ruben%s's Photo
    Hmmn... feels like this should really be finished as a 100% solo. Simply because this whole project is (at least atm) aimed at showing myself I can finish a fullsized park. :p

    Tried making it more interesting, adding textures etc. Minor changes, but changes nonetheless. Getting closer?
    [attachment=8840:Screennr14.PNG]
  • Liampie%s's Photo
    Slightly better. Now add a cool tower somwhere.
  • Ruben%s's Photo
    Dude, think I've never used your comments as much as atm. Version 3, better?

    [attachment=8842:Screennr15.PNG]

    And, a bit of a WIP. This watercoaster in Atlantisstyle needs to be removed/adjusted. Is it worth keeping as much as possible or should I just start from scratch again?:

    [attachment=8843:Screennr16.PNG]
  • Liampie%s's Photo
    Better. Atlantis is bland, and the rocks (even if they were finished) are not working here. You can do better, start over! :p
  • BC(rct2)%s's Photo
    Yeah, the rocks are not working...but nice work with the first screen :)
  • Ruben%s's Photo
    Pff... the chances of this ever getting released (some 4 or 5 years after starting it) are getting bigger and bigger. It's coming together slowly but surely.

    Something small, again, but I really need your opinion on this one:

    [attachment=9125:Screennr17.PNG]

    How's the foliage/landscaping?
  • Louis!%s's Photo
    I think the orange flowers are a bit too much. The random square of tan path is off putting.

    But the carousel building is wonderful.
  • BC(rct2)%s's Photo
    I really like it but I think that if you change the colour of the flowers, will look better! ;)
  • Liampie%s's Photo
    I don't have any problems with the flowers, but I think you REALLY need to get rid of the tan path. My other concern is that the whole park will look the same... You should cluster rides and architecture in some places to compensate these green functionally empty areas.
  • Xtreme97%s's Photo
    Veeery nice teacups ride you have there.

    Will do, actually already did. The thing is most is already planned and built for at least some part. These kinds of areas are just easier to finish, so I tend to do 'em first. But don't worry, there'll be some ride clusters, building clusters/bigger structures. Momentarily just postponing finishing those, but it should work out just fine.

    What if I'd move the tan path one block, so it's centered in front of the ride entrance? I feel like I really need something to break that path, and the tan bit did that for me. As nobody likes it its probably just part of my quirky taste (have that every now and then) but any alternative suggestions?
