El Encierro. Pure genius. Geewhzz and disneylhand proved themselves to be two of the greatest RCT2 players when they released this to the community back in 2008. The greatest RCT2 design of the past 10 years? We certainly think so. With one of the best Invert layouts RCT has ever seen, El Encierro is a thing of beauty. Sweeping turns, massive inversions, fast-paced helices, this design has it all. Our #1 RCT2 Design, is a must see.

Oozing atmosphere and charm, Fenrir is an incredible design, so incredible that it grabs our #2 spot. Steve proves that he has a fantastic eye for detail and can produce some of the best architecture RCT2 has seen. Fenrir features a unique layout, beautiful theming and atmosphere to die for. Well done Steve on producing such an amazing piece of RCT greatness.

In 2010 Kumba started a recreation craze when he began to create his namesake in RCT. Who would've thought that it would soon become the highest scoring design of all time? Kumba is a work of wonder and is realism at its greatest, which is highly odd when it comes from a guy who is known for his fantasy creations. With incredible attention to detail, Kumba recreated this coaster beautifully and it will always be one of the best designs the site has seen.

fantastic selection. spot on, in my opinion. too bad we can't get any Brachiosaurus, Starflight or Comet on here.

Well, when it comes to top 3 lists is all opinion and as such not everyones list will be different. It's just an inevitability. That said however, I do agree with the top spot and I can get the third, but I'm a bit bamboozled by the 2nd choice. I love Steve's work, but Fenrir is not even remotely in the top of the list for me especially because I think Steve made better stuff. What also stings a little is that there's not a single wooden coaster on the list while we have some amazing ones on the site (Castle Howard, Comet, as examples)

El Encierro was a clear winner imo. I am kinda glad Kumba did not win. Yeah, it's good realistic RCT, but it's a rec. I did not come up with the layout or theme, I just copied it into RCT.

Fenrir... I kinda agree with Ty. I just don't get why it's so loved... I had Fright Nights in its place at #2.

Two designs that need mentioning in a topic like this; Vulture and Bayon Falls.

Notwithstanding that these are three extremely high quality designs, and they certainly showcase the skill we've got around here on NE.

El Encierro is in a league of its own. Definitely worthy of the top spot, I still look back at that frequently just because it's so awesome.

The only thing I'm not in love with for Fenrir is the layout, its a bit slow and in spots. But the atmosphere and archy are just flat out amazing.

Kumba, well it's as perfect as the limits of the game can allow. Even with that, it still manages to be nearly spot on and look amazing as well.

I would have maybe had Bayon Falls in there or Vulture as verti said, but these would all definitely be in my top five.

As much as I love Steve and his work, I think the #2 spot should have gone to ArchAngel (Well, I actually think it should be #1, but I can see the reasons people would put El Encierro above it). I think ArchAngel much better shows off the 'oozing atmosphere' which you've tagged Fenrir with.

i thought vulture was epic too. id say its a very, very close call 3rd. nevertheless kumba was a great rec. i also loved fenrir. awsome architecture, interaction and overall beautiful. i do agree with the choices but i think vulture should be 3rd.

There's just so much competition. Wildcat, Starflight, Vulture, Djinn, Bayon Falls, Archimedes, Arch Angel, Comet, Firefly, Salga, Helios. Personally I adore Musette. And there's much, much more.

Good top three to me as well but I agree with Trav, Archangel should be in there for sure.

Still thinking what my top 3 would have been. Must have been incredible hard to come up with a top 3 list for best rct2 design. Congratulations to everyone.

Yeah pretty tough competition, it mostly comes down to personal preference I guess. Fright Nights would have def made my top 3.

ArchAngel and Musette yumm

Glad I'm not the only one masturbating to Musette. The colours in that design are incredible. Just viewed Helios again. It's even better than I remember... Such a shame Kevin lost Ports of Discovery. Imagine Helios-quality stuff on a 140² map. Together with Project Toucan it ranks as the saddest park loss.
