Ok since I've just had a solo release I've been unable to actually post decent screens because I don't really have anything to show at this point, what I've noticed though is that the AD is slowly starting to dry out, I'd really want to see more advertising going on again because the community seems to be in a big slump bigger than any I've been able to remember...
I will start posting screens as soon as I can and I advise everybody to start showing what you're doing as it'll keep the community more alive and kicking! We can't let this slump get the better of us and if you dissagree about this feeling I have plz prove me wrong. I've also noticed that a lot of people are simply posting here all day instead of building the cool stuff we are all capable of. I've had this behavious in the past aswell and I actually was able to finish more stuff when I was actually keeping of the site and building with my time instead.
IF ANY FEEL I'M WRONG PLZ PROVE ME WRONG AND LET'S GET THE AD ALIVE AND KICKING AGAIN! -

Yup, which is my reasoning behing posting my screen in the dump. To try and get more activity in the ad district.

I agree BG. Logos has been advertised a lot, so I like to think I am doing my part. It's tricky tho, you never want to show to much and give things away. With the robocoaster, that thing came out awesome, so I just posted a teaser from a bad angle.
Another good reason to use the AD is for feedback. Sadly these days it's rare to get more than one page of feedback on your parks. With AD screens you end up with more total feedback. I good for these myself: -

I will advertise my new park a lot, but with larger screens only. It's not finished enough to have those kind of screens... So it's a matter of time for me. -

I'm hopeful that this is just a slight spell for the time being. Many of us just began school and such (which is true in my case) and therefore don't have the time to work extensively on projects. This is common knowledge, which I'm sure is shared by the majority here. -

I don't understand why everyone is so secretive about their work.... I mean, getting feedback will only improve your game, because the like 5 or 6 comments you get on a released accolade ain't gonna improve your game that much.
And being secretive about special things I can understand, but a hyped park with good screens (Zippos and Dreamport as my prime example) turned out way better on release then you would expect from the screens, and that was because Xophe and JK both advertised it really well. -

I would be happy to help out.

I know many don't agree with me, but I think extensively advertising your work is an important part of the fun of making a park or a design. I always love posting screens and following the building process of upcoming parks. I don't understand how for example a park that wins gold has only been advertised with five or six screens. Advertising should be more than just teasing. This doesn't mean you have to give everything away or post unfinished screens, but I think showing your work and watching other's work regularly causes more fun than keeping as much as possible secret until the release. To me, viewing a park in-game is more about finding out how everything you saw in the screens fits together, rather than discovering everything for the first time. -

I agree with Dimi. I used to like keeping surprises for the release, but I've learned that advertising is more fun than releasing. I have no more secrets. -

I don't advertise that much. Sure screens get more comments than releases (which is a shame IMO but I don't comment that much either) but I want people to be surprised when opening a park. Maybe not the smartest move to get attention, but that's not what I want anyways. I just love building parks.

I used to think the same way as Dave...I wanted everything to be a surprise when my parks were released. Then, I realized that I never release anything. Plus, it seemed like every time I advertised a park, it almost immediately began to get black holes, error trappers and every/anything else that could possibly go wrong. Like...advertising a project instantly jinxed it. Now, I'm more in line with Dimi/Liam after realizing how much I enjoy watching the progress of others projects and how much fun it really can be deciding what to show and when, etc. And the anticipation that can build if you consistently keep everyone up to date on the progress of your projects.
Plus, it keeps the AD hopping...which is sorely needed ATM. -

I really see a lot more "game" activity in the topics lately and I'm happy my message got across, I'm currently working on some things so maybe expect an AD topic from me soon when I have more substantial content -

There is defo more activity lately but its the same people uploading things, Not very many new peeps posting stuff. -

I think a lot of it has to do with how busy people are. I know that I can maybe get to RCT once a week with the work load I've been getting, and after coming off of holiday we're seeing the decline in the AD which should pick back up by summer. -

The community has been getting smaller and smaller every year... I don't see it growing anytime soon. I honestly give it no more than 5 years before NE is gone. Pretty good run.
