Ask the Experts / Custom roto drop problem

I want to make a custom roto drop. So, I started with building the floor and surrounding buildings. Than, I used zero all clearances and placed the roto drop. After restoring the clearances, I went back in game, gave the roto drop a name. Went back to 8cars, I changed tracktype into crooked house. Went back in game. I used zero all clearances again to make a tower with 1/4 blocks. I started building it on the right height, on the same height as the "station". I made it heigher then the roto drop of course. But when I wanted to test it, it justs rotates. It doesn't go up :(

Please tell me what I can do to fix this.

You can't place objects in the 'path' of the ride on the roto drop or it'll do that.

So there is no way to make a working custom roto drop? :(

Seriously, I've seen such roto drops before and I can't imagine that none of them is working. I have no time to look up in which parks they were and check if they work though, sorry...

I kinda figured it out. It works when you chose upwards launch mode. Roto drop mode doesn't work. So I took upwards launch mode. Not exactly what I wanted, but at least it works then.

Try Downward Launch mode. But that then does a smaller jump at the end of the ride. Also try deleting the ride and re-building it with ZC on.

try removing the windows on the building above the entrance door

^ What he said. Although you might have to remove everything on that side that's actually built on the ride base. I think the curved blocks up the middle are ok...but anything built on the perimeter of the ride base will cause the issue you're having.

Try doing zero-clearance twice (don't restore clearances before the second zero-clearance). Solved the problem for me, but next time you zero clearance one time, the problem will come back. Much easier than rebuilding any part of the ride, which is another way to fix this problem.
