The turn around the corner in the bottom screen could be better executed. As of now it's rather ugly.
  • posix%s's Photo
The paths are kind of brutally stenciling through the park. They don't accomodate and interact with what's there. Otherwise quite promising. Hoping you'll finish.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm aware of the path problem. I'll see what I can do to make it look better.

the green/brown water looks not that good on the 2nd picture you should chance it
  • Super G%s's Photo
That's probably becouse it hasn't to be good looking, becouse it's dirty water comming from a factory.
Looks good, only I would add one support piece extra, becouse now the track isn't connected to the supports.

woha!, you are the king of textures. You got to work on your colours though;)

Well, it's supposed to be sewage water dumped in 'normal' water. So it doesn't have to look good. It's supposed to look dirty.

    I'll take a look at it ;)

Thank you, I'm working on my use of colours. In old days, I only used brown colours, it's a bit better now but it is still a working point to improve indeed.

Come along with Ben Stiller & Eddy Murphy on Tower heist, a free fall that takes you 100m in the sky. With a top speed of 115km/h you're going down!

    i mean the 1st picture (sorry) :p

I'm thinking brown would fit better for that sewer water.

Tower Heist looks pretty good !

I think the current sewage colour is a good one. Keep it.

My god. Thats probably the worst execution of a ride inspired by Tower Heist. That movie had so many great things you could use as theming around it. I mean, the parade that is in front of the tower? The lockdown of the big evil bos? The red gold plated Ferrari hanging outside the building? Well, what you do is this: Put a roto drop in there, without theming.

Really. Just RE-DO IT. Or take the label off.

My idea would be: Make the parade (the street etc) with the building as a decor. And put the Roto drop between those. At the top make a construction, with a sport car painted red hanging at it. If you then name it Tower Heist, people will instantly give you credit for the execution. Now you just have a roto drop with a stupid name.

Edit: And dont start about your theming, it has no resemblence with the movie what-so-ever, let alone, its not a tower but a mansion kinda building.
  • FredD%s's Photo
Yeah Cena, you've got a point. But just a little point. First, I've only seen the trailer of the movie. From what I saw in there, it looks like the movie is shot in an urban environment. Problem: this is an industrial zone, not an urban. So no it's not a precise execution of the movie, just because the environment of the movie doesn't fit in the park.

Look at the free fall towers in other movie parks. In Movie Park Germany it's just named 'the high fall', with no movie related at all. Parque Warner Madrid's free fall tower is named 'La venganza del enigma' (revenge of the enigma). I've no clue if it's related to a movie, and if so, which movie. So I assume that's also a free fall tower that isn't related to a movie.

My point is, it's just damn hard to name a free fall tower after a fitting movie. I searched long for an appropriate movie for this ride, but didn't find a good one. Ok, you don't recognize things from the movie. But Tower heist in itself is a good and neutral name for a free fall tower.

And you can easily change the story after tower heist, so it does fit in the theming, and explain it in the queue. Like Movie Park Germany did with their Van Helsingcoaster. It's not the normal Van Helsing story we know from the movies, but they used the publicity from the person Van Helsing to make a different story for their attraction.

And don't worry, I know it's a movie park and I'll always check if I can execute the theming according to the movie. But it's not always possible to do that good. Please understand that.

Cena is in his own head too often. You're right FrEdD, and don't redo it because Cena is just being melodramatic. I would like to see more building/path interaction though; as other people have pointed out, your buildings are very large and so are your paths, and while this is fitting for a movie-based park, you mustn't forget to give it a more human-scaled atmosphere sometimes to break up the monotony of path/large building/path/large building/path/ etc. Definitely work on creating a more welcoming atmosphere.

You KNOW it's a roto-drop, right? If that isn't a tower to you, then I can't say anything more.

Guys, watch the movie before you start this flame war with me. Please.

I have seen the movie in the cinema (as with 40 other movies this year) and I know how the movie goes. I find it a bit pathetic though FredD, that you didn't do research for your parks/designs(thats what I conclude out of this). Anyways, too label the park with Movie World, I personally would do research in the movies that you portray.

About the Van Helsing coaster @ Movie Park Germany. I have been there this year, I have ridden it twice, and although you can argue about how accurate the story is towards the movie, you are right. However, the feeling you get from the movie, and the feeling inside the building/queue line, it's almost the same. And thats what so good about that ride. However, the feeling, nor the setting is the same here with the Tower Heist movie, thats why I posted my long post of critism.

None the less, I appreciete you take on a movie-style-theme park, since they are hard to pull off. So respect for that fact. Good luck on continuing.
  • FredD%s's Photo
Oh so you expect me to watch hundred of movies until I find the right one for just this one attraction? Ain't got the time, the money or even the internet connection to do that... If I only use the movies I like to watch, it would just be a comedy park. And comedy's are not easy to integrate in rct2. That and the fact that my list of seen movies is not so big, this project could be done before I even begin at it.

The feeling from the movie is the same as the feeling you get in the queue? Rofl, the feeling I had in the queue was from a car factory where something terrible happened. Don't know how you can call that the same feeling as a movie which tells a story about a vampire hunter in Transylvania in the 19th century...

I challenge you to find a better name for my roto drop.
  • Louis!%s's Photo
How about 'Heist Tower' instead? :p
