(Archive) Advertising District / My First Big Project

Since yesterday i have altered some of the layouts and added a station and flat ride (MeltDown) to the TOXIC area. here are a few pics of the Station.

First off i would never build track directly on the ground. While your architecture isnt really too bad, its alright except for the colours. Why would you colour your buildings exactly the same as the coaster? Why is there water falls coming from nowhere? The theatre isnt too bad either. Atleast its retro to go with the "space Raiders" movie. This is all i will say for the time being. Sort these out and i can be hypercritical then.

That first screen has a great concept but those rapids look REALLY boring..
The supports are horrible.

I want to advise you, instead of posting 100 layouts per day, to work them out more then add something (at least some planning) to it and THEN post them.

Those last screens are pretty empty, the architecture could use some improvement but it's not bad as it is.
The colours are, they're just the same as the coaster's colours.
That theatre looks horrible imo. It looks as if you just pressed shift and then placed all those blocks as high/low as possible and then added walls.

Also, what highroller said, never place track directly on the ground.

So I was looking at this thread for awhile and now I have a question. Why do you never want to put the coaster track directly on the ground?
I don't want to derail this thread, by the way.

irl, the coaster would most likely start sinking into the ground I thougt.
It also has something to do with it not being steady on the ground without supports.

I haven't been using RCT2 for a little bit because i have got RCTLL through the post and am playing on it quite a bit (just the scenario's)

Anyway here's a pic of the entrance.

The name of the park is called "Leighton [Gardens] Theme Park". I'm stuck as to whether or not to include "Gardens" in the title.

Thats actually pretty cool. Make sure to leave room foir foilage on the edge of the lighthouse. Also, the roofing on those pavilions? looks a little chunky for me.

Could you show some pictures of your improvement by tips you get from users here?

Your Bommerang looks Great, But a small tip is to fix the supports like this in a halfloop or loop:



It's my own Mack Launchcoaster from a unfinished park never released anywere.

But it's an Example how you should supports half loops in the begin or full loopings, to get it more Realism.

I see you did it on your looping a small try, but i think that one can get to the 90 degree upway of the Loop so the stability would improve (It's a little math work)

If you don't get me, im dutch and try to speak english so far i'm possible.
If you do that on your halfloops too and make a vertical with diagonal support extention at the top it would look a lot better in supporting on the Cobra element!

The Atmosphere is really great in the Giant Boomerang!

When are you going to release that?

Until Super G and I going to finish it cause i can't finish it alone, but can we please stay ontopic, it was meant as an Example to improve the supports of the loopings for Xtreme97

Unless you actually plan to have some "gardens" in that entrance and what not, I wouldn't put gardens in the title. I do like the entrance very much

I agree, you can name it gardens when you add gardens and especially the entrance would fit them.
Because the entrance gives a first impression when people are visiting a park.

I do like the entrance but the lighthouse seems rather useless and kinda boring. It could use some foliage around it.
