...Almost as stupid as giving an opinion about bits and bytes. Opinions are just bits and bytes after all, sometimes metaphorically. If you're going to go all nihilistic, you can't really stop to put up an artificial line in the sand. All the members involved at TPR and NE are pathetic, why put so much time in such a worthless discussion... I mean, bitching about bits and bytes which site is better. Just choose your own and stay at it.
JDP is a dick, and you're all still here. That says a lot, like how this whole argument is fucking stupid. -

TPR seems like a pretty cool site I feel NE should be friends of as members of the RCT community. -

[asskissing] For me, one difference is definite, I like our admins MUCH better. [/asskissing]
No, really. -

I believe we should hold our members to a higher standard to influence work of higher quality. NE is without a doubt one of, if not, the most prestigious RCT websites to date. I would consider many of the members at this site not only intelligent and friendly, but capable of becoming very successful in the architectural/engineering design industry. I have a thread for Starpointe at TPR but I believe I don't obtain the constructive criticism that I receive here at NE. Some members there even insist on saying that I play "pretty building tycoon." The hatred comments found directed toward NE over there are becoming quite redundant and I've learned to just accept them because at the end of the day I know NE is far more superior for RCT design. -

"Too many colors. It makes the screen chaotic." is the criticism I gave on Pacificoaster's Starpointe latest screen.
Random troll with previous history of ban in TPR who also happens to suck at rct2 comes and posts random reddit picture with no fucking argument. Yeah you Mememe.
I say "Don't be a fail troll, because I hate fail trolls."
Mod edits my post to say "Because I can't be happy unless I'm trashing somebody else"
Fuck you TPR. You've introduced me to New Element and stretched out my Rct life time by an exponential amount. But if this is what the new staff are going to be and manipulate my fucking posts, I'm out. Even the most "pretentious" crude people we have on NE can't come close to the pretentious elitist feeling you get from being a fucking games forums mod that QR showed.
I must say I was a bit childish in this manner and got heated quickly. But I'm not going to a fricking Cold-war era Russian website only to have my posts manipulated to say something it didn't.
I posted a unnecessary rant on there. Which I shouldn't have but screw it. I'm gonna voice my discontent with that particular mod. Whom I guess is the ones involved in the past debates about NE being pretentious fucks. -

Im just new to this site but i have seen the best rct work i have ever seen here, If trying to be the best of the best makes this site elitist and ignorant then im fine with that it just shows the high standards that most at this site have. I meen if everyone had low standards then the work would not be good. I have never been on tpr but the way i see it is, The people at the top will always have people below them saying ohh there not good they are all so critical. But the high standards of this site has made it what it isI mean Elite meens the best of the best, There is a reason why in football the best teams are called the Elite, There is a reason why in the world the main countries are called the Elite countrys, On to a lighter note there is a reason why the Elite 4 in pokemon are that because they are the best of the best excluding the champion.
Just my opinion. -

Dotro,
I'm just going to go on the record that you are not telling the whole story. Flaming a Mod in chat after your post, is what set this in motion. You have a history of being one of those "NE pretentious fucks" at TPR.
At TPR, all we ask is that people present their opinions in a manner that is condusive to the discussion. Not "it sucks." And yes, we do tend to single out those who can't say anything good at all, and unfortunately, those members seem to have migrate from NE. Which is unfortunate, as I really love the work here, and think it's a great forum and site for RCT, especially since those sites are slowly dying off.
What everyone has to understand is that TPR is a Theme Park and Roller Coaster site first, and a game forum......well like third or forth. It's not why TPR is in existence, but knowing that there was a lot of crossover into RCT/NL/Scream Machines, etc, it became a necessity.
Again, TPR does not hate NE. We recognize what it's for, RCT players that want to take their skills and building to the next level. TPR's game forum will never be for that. It's somewhere for people to share their parks and tracks for fun. Consider it the casual game player forum dedicated to theme park games.
We've had run ins with posters that promote NE as the place only the best go to post, and that they're opinions are fact, and everyone should listen to them. Thats where we've had issues in the past. The old chip on the shoulder routine. Not that it's a bad thing, TPR's game forum just isn't the place for you. That's all. -

^ Judging by posts about this stuff, then yes. Playing a computer game is very serious stuff! -

^just in 'dotro's defense,
can you explain (to me as well, since I don't get that at all), why the hell did a mod change his post without giving the definite idea that it's edited by a mod? -
mcjaco Offline
^ There's always a audit trail at the bottom of a post if it's been edited. We try to give a reason too, but don't always. -
chorkiel Offline
^why not if I may ask. Because editing one's post is (to me) something you can't do like breathing.
Edit: Edited just because I can- Louis

^ We try to always put some sort of footer or note as to why we edit a post.
In this case, the mod was in the wrong for changing the post to what he did. However, Dotro went way past the TPR posting rules, and in fact went into chat to begin insulting the said mod. That's a no-no.
Before February, I was the only mod for the TPR Game Forum. Life got in the way, and I was burned out from populating the Game Exchange before it went live (seriously took me two months). Robb added AJ, QR and DJ to help out. Three good guys with alot of excitement for the Game Forum. Modding isn't as easy as people thing, and in some cases it's a learning experience. In this case, it has been for our mods, and I hope for Dotro as well. -

The funny part is that even with almost no modding here, the forum seems to do just fine regulating itself.
