A short time ago, BG and robbie started discussing a DEATH MATCH. Someone suggested a "free-for-all" concept and the next thing anyone knew, nin, myself, Liampie and JDP had all jumped into the fray. The rules are simple...build whatever the fuck you want, but it must be themed between the 1850's and 1950's, include at least one major coaster, one 'normal' flat ride, one custom flat ride and some kind of dark ride. Submit it no later than Aug. 21st and, oh yeah.....no inversions allowed.
I got one area of my park somewhat finished...so, I thought I'd post the first screen and get this DEATH MATCH out into the public's eye as well as post a poll to see who the community thinks will win this thing :
If this looks familiar, it's because it's a remake of my Disney's Big Butte Montana Adventure...sans the Disney label and started back up from scratch.
I know that a couple of guys are struggling to get their parks rolling...maybe this will light a little fire under their asses
DMx6:FFA... it's on, bitches!!! -

O my god that looks sick.
If your HDD does not crash, it doesn't get fucked up by black holes or some other excuse you will probably win
My only complaint could be that there is too much brown. -

Yeah, I don't have a chance at all...
All I have so far... Think Turn-of-the-Century Epcot. -

Robbie, if you fill your whole entry with that quality.. you'll win.
I think time will be your only opponent.
K0ng, that's amazing as well, but damn look what robbie made ! -

holy crap guys... great work so far. kong your work is always sooo awesome but i just can't trust you to get it finished... thats why i voted for robbie. nin is a second but he is just less experienced and releases less.
also nice work robbie, but what is your direction from that? i can't imagine where you are going with that. but holy crap it is good. what are the grey things on the dome though? it looks kind of stupid -

K0NG, looks like all your other work. Great design, but not surprising...
Robbie, is that a hidden mickey?
I just took some pictures that will help me with the architecture in my park. I'll probably start tonight! -

^It's not meant to be hidden at all. This is gonna be my version of the Disney Main-Street train station, although it's trams this time.
^^I seriously doubt I'll win. K0NG has a much better chance of finishing, considering my ambitions for this. What the park is is basically Epcot, alothough instead of an 80s modernist look, it hearkens back to Art Nouveau, Neoclassicism, and the Belle Epoque. Like any World's Fair, it'll also have pavilions for countries, but at a smaller scale than World Showcase pavilions. BTW, the white stuff on the dome is meant to be ribbing for the dome, which would continue down if it didn't glitch so much.
^^^Time is a bitch. I probably won't finish this by the deadline, considering I'm planning to keep this quality up through the entire park. -

Wow, both projects look phenomenal so far.
K0NG: I love the loading dock!
Robbie: Elegantly stunning. -

K0NG that's awesome tho like with Vulture the landscaping takes it down a notch imo. Realistic yes... but still ugly in RCT. Great work, odds are you win this.
Robbie that's really cool, just so unfinished... still I can see you ending up with an amazing final product. -

K0ng, I really urge you to try to abstain from deco-lining every roof of your buildings. There's other ways to make it look more interesting, especially with this theme, and but even in general the architecture looks way to similar to that in your Vulture screens. Obviously your theme doesn't have to be too concerned with mimicking reality but if you are attempting accuracy, the mine/frontier architecture should seem less composed/designed by an architect and more haphazard/built on-the-fly. In particular I think the thickness of the deco, its level of organization, and its contrasting color are holding the screen back from being more convincing, even just as theming meant to merely mimic the frontier. I actually think it comes off a little cartoony, which is great for some parks but I don't think you're going for that:
And you shouldn't be cliche about it either though, this is just to help expand horizons:
But there are some great things in that screen as well. You've made the rocks work with the scenery and those thin trees look very natural alongside them. The scenery interaction with the rapids ride is nice too and I like the width of the rivers, just right for the rafts to pass through but with enough variability to make each ride different (boat spinning, bouncing, etc.). But on that note, and I know I've done this too, there shouldn't be any guiding track for river rapids rides. They are free to move around in the water to only be propelled by the current. The mine train coaster track is also a nice touch to recreate the Vekoma style. -

I allready have a feeling of who's gonna win, and here's some hints...
KONG should take this because the "age-theming" is right up his alley. Seriously this is what KONG does best. Also that screen is looking really promising.
Although, on the other hand Robbie; that's a really pretty screen, and if you finish in time, KONG sure have to look out for this one! -

If everybody finished something to their full potential I would have my money on Liampie, but I think it really comes down to who puts the most time
Screens look good so far -

While your screen is great K0NG, I must agree with Phatage in that it looks like Vulture. I must commend you for lighting the fire though, I'll have something shown soon. -

Brown isn't an age.

If nin actually finishes something he could win over Kong but Robbie's screen is amazing. -
