Ask the Experts / Reliability Patch and Misplaced Staff...?

1: I've had problems with my launch coasters (that I've edited with 8 cars) which break down every couple minutes. I found the "Reliability Patch" but I'm not sure how to use it. I saw a post that said to run it when not in rct2 and your rides won't crash. I tried just running it when out of rct2 and a little black command prompt popped up for a second then disappeared. When I went into rct2 my edited rides were still breaking down all the time. Am I doing something wrong or is it just not working for me? Also does it only prevent the rides from crashing, or from not breaking down often which is what I need?
2: After playing RCT2 on and off for about 6 years, I never have had any problems with the staff. But now all of a sudden, my staff members keep leaving their assigned areas. Most of them stay in their places but some drift off and start to fix rides they shouldn't be fixing. When I look at their assigned areas, the original location still has the blue footprints but blue footprints are added over some random ride in the park causing them to go fix it. The staff member originally for this ride, when I check his blueprints, has none anymore for some reason and is aimlessly wandering. Do any of you know what this issue is?
3: On my current park, I zeroed the clearance once for a coaster and then restored them. A little while after 15 min. or so, I realized that all of my staff members lost their assignments. When you clicked on each individual staff member, their blueprints would appear on the map, but they would not stay in them. The blueprints icon, however, did not show up next to their name on the staff list. So I had to gruelingly reassign them all...So basically my question is: Does zeroing the clearances mess up the staff and cause them to disobey their own clearances (leave their assigned areas)?

1: you got the patch and the trainer. you probally found the trainer. that you need to run when in rct2. it can still break down but not that often. better is to change the hack so it wont break down cause else other people watching it will still see it break down every time.
2: probally a bug in the game. reasigning them is the best solution. if the problem keeps occuring try a reinstall.
3: by my knowing it doesn't. it could be your version of rct2 is a little bit different (which version do you have? UK,US, EU or other?) that could explain that it happens. -

I have the US version of the game. I guess I'll just have to keep putting them back when it happens or reinstall as you suggested.
Also, I do have the reliability patch and trainer, but when I ran the trainer while in my park, my ride still appeared to break down as often as it did before. So I'm wondering exactly what to do with the reliabilty patch, which I read does not have to be run every time you open the park. I see that the reliability patch sometimes comes within the zip file of peoples' park downloads on this site, but I don't know how to actually use it. Also, what I'm not sure what you mean by saying "it is better to change the hack", how would I go about changing the hack? -

if its included in a park its always the trainer (at least that should be). it should work but you might have tripple thrill pack? cause it won't work for that version. I also believe the trainer is made for the UK version. at least the 8cars is and its made by the same person so probally the trainer is also ment for the UK version.
You can use a dummy station for example to work around the problem. the breakdown only happens when the train enters the station. So if you dont make it enter the main station but only the dummy station you can work around it. it might breakdown one or two times but LESS then normal. -

I don't have the triple pack, but I do have Wacky Worlds so that might affect it. 8 cars works for the US version though but I suppose that doesn't mean the reliability trainer works also.
Regarding dummy stations, I saw a post once about building one of them once to non-stop breakdowns but it didn't explain it, so I'm not sure how to do it. I'm quite new when it comes to all of this stuff, but I did search for a tutorial for it but with no luck. Do you happen to know where I could find a tutorial for creating dummy stations?
