A little background...I have been working on this project off an on for over a year. Not every day, sometimes only for a few hours at a time hence the extremely unfinished state it's in. But rather than work on a bunch of smaller projects, I have pretty much tinkered just with this bench. I have went through two overhauls as I found new objects I wanted to incorporate and some new building concepts that forced me to revamp the layout.
My concept is basically Spanish/Caribbean village archy with an emphasis on wildlife exhibits ala Busch Gardens Tampa. My approach has been to complete some of the major buildings and main path areas before moving on to rides and coasters. I am beginning to see that I might want to place my big rides first then build around those attractions, so I am thinking about starting over once again. I learned some more time efficient techniques when I completed the hotel here, so I think a restart might go a little quicker.
I’ve studied many of the parks that have won accolades here, and I was really into some of the stuff posted at RCTMajesty as well as the designers over at RCT Mart, but my work here is most influenced by: Marriot’s Marine World by RCTNW, Kumba, Levis and Turtle (four of my favorite Parkmakers), Watkins Woods by CedarPoint6 and Universal Hawaii by JayK .
Really just wanted to further introduce myself to the community here, I'd like any feedback you could give me on what you see here.
On to the park, sorry if it’s a little long, I’m learning…

Looks a tad stale at this point, but that may improve as you finish it more. Keep going, I like it!
The only other thing I'd suggest is change the colors around on the stadium a little: too much blue at the moment. Maybe white, gray, or tan as a base color with blue details would be better. -

BAH..so not how I wanted this to show up, but whatever...I had to cut out half the images I shot of my work but, just wanted to put something out there anyways...I hope it's enough to form opinions (having watched around here long enough, I think opinions will flow ) Anyways, I've got some other screens of work I've done but it's all pretty much non-coaster. I realize most of the great work done here centers on the coasters but I feel like the true art of this game lies in everything around the coaster...the subtle nuances of pathmaking, the architecture, the ambiance if a park, the thrill of water park making which the game as it's coded ignores, the special pieces designed by so many devoted players of this game...the art of all of this is the taking of a 256 bit game and stretching it to it's creative limits... as well as the recreation of some of the most physics-defying rides imaginable...there is an artform present here that we are all an almost secret society to...
Think about it..if someone put down the money to build some of the parks we all know of...Disney would shudder in his cryogenic grave...lol
Thanks Musicman...I agree, I got kinda tired of the blue theme too, but I committed so much to it at the outset...I am thinking about going more grey with all the roofing to reflect a steel construct...the seats are a default blue but they may go white or something in the finished model...I was trying to stay away from earth tones because that's the main color of the "park" centric buildings...
Thanks for the constructive input! -

One more thing I'd like to mention is to be careful of the object limit if you're doing a map of this size at this level of detail, I'm sure the more experienced members of this forum can enlighten you on this. -

I've seen reference to this...and probably seen the definition but could anyone refresh my memory?
c'mon Kong...your voice booms big here...
I totally hate how my pics spit out here...if there is a better way to host or post my images, someone please let me know... -

The game only allows a certain amount of objects in each category, I've seen people run into this on several larger projects. If you want an example of this, download RTCNW's new park and try to add a scenery object, it won't let you because all of the slots are full.
Also, I just used something called the edit button. You can find it in the lower left corner of your comments next to the reply button. It gives you the magical power of not being yelled at by the admins.
After realizing that my sarcasm may not translate over the internet, I once again used the the edit button to add a smiley. -

Hmm..I've already run into the standard limit of objects available in palettes but not in objects placed in Scenario Editor...
One of the things about this game that I think makes it so ingenious is having to work around the 256K limits...It would be great to get into the game and just be able to let your imagination go..create whatever objects you want, whatever...but I kind of get a kick out of having to work within the limits of the game...having to work around the game is what creates the challenge for me...I don't know if I'd be so enamored with it if the limits weren't there.
And as for my comment about Kong...I have walked the earth long enough to recognize whom respect is due to...whether it is earned or expected is not mine to question...he's got something to say.
<--not interested in proving my manhood on the internet....just talking about the game...perhaps some would do better to make the same distinction.
Some more shots of ideas I'm working with in the same park:

Some good things in your work. I really like the very first screen with the RCTNW-ish stadium and the very last one above^ You could use more detail tho and yeah the atmosphere is a little off. atm it reminds me of Highball's work a bit, which is not bad. Pretty good start, but try and look at some parks with more attention to details like by J K, CedarPoint6 and geewhzz.
Also please try and limit your posts. People here hate seeing double, triple and quadruple posts. Try and never post more than 3x on one page unless you have a good reason to. 8 non-screen posts on half a page is WAY to many. -

Please use direct links instead of thumbnails from now on. People are lazy, and you'll get more comments about your refreshing work this way. -

Yeah, try to just copy and paste the image code into your posts instead of linking to IS. It's much easier on everyone...whether they're actually lazy or not. Gonna agree with Kumba here too...a little more detail would make these screens, and the project itself, really pop. Nice stuff. -

Can you please not double or triple post? Use the edit button.
A few general remarks. Starting over is not a good thing to do because it will make you forget the insights you've learned from things that didn't go well. e.g. building architecture before main rides. further, the ability to finish a project is by far the most demanding skill any player struggles to find, so the sooner you can start practicing it the better. It will also make a big confidence difference if you manage to finish something off and have a release on your account. People will start to recognise you much more than if you just post screens occasionally. Further, if you're going for tropical, then I suggest you also look at the pioneers of this style, mainly Fatha' with "Tropico Cove" and disney spotlights by Pyro Penguin. You will need to have RCTLL to view those, however, or use the fullscale aerials where available.
That said, I'll be honest and say I didn't look at all the screens because as you've noticed yourself, the way you made them available is not very handy. From what I've seen, I think you have a nice amount of talent, but the RCTNW influence is a bit strong maybe. Yes, you definitely need more focus on ride design, and I would suggest not using the land tool to raise huge mountains as these are usually a pain to work on. If you want height variations, just lower, not raise, several huge "platforms" that you can then incorporate into your park. I suggest you make use of 8cars' land tool extension feature for this. -

Yeah, there is an edit button, please use it. I've just merged all your posts for you, in the future, i'd rather not have to.
The screens are looking good. You are clearly off to a decent start. -

after opening half of your pics my browser crashed and restarted without them open..
I'm one of those lazy people, the few pics I saw before I got pissed off by the annoying work was really good though !
love your landscaping!
