Hello all, Brad here, just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been playing RCT since, um...wow...2002 I think? I've read this site as well as most all of the other major ones (and a few that I lament the loss of...) and find myself increasingly addicted as the years pass. I hope to submit a park for the first time sometime this summer if I can shake some of my perfectionist ways loose. I've built, restarted, walked away, started all over again many times on a massive project that has been floating in my gourd for about three years now. I am finally close now to a level where I feel accomplished enough to share and gather some outside input.
I am truly awed by some of the work I have seen here in this forum. Of all the sites I have thoroughly studied, I think NE by far exemplifies what can be created artistically as well as conceptually with this relatively simple software. Many other forums have come and gone, but NE has only gotten stronger as the years have passed. I have been inspired to step out of the shadows because this forum lends a certain validity to the time it takes to create these parks. It's great to see so many new names starting to appear, especially since this game is increasingly hard to find on retail shelves. I want to be a part of keeping RCT alive.
I'm going to try to post some work in progress shots in the coming days, my style is geared more towards realism than fantasy. I am just starting to work with 8Cars. My coaster building skills are a big weakness at the moment, but I'm learning from all of you. I am a little handicapped in that I am not well traveled to many of the great theme parks. King's Island in Ohio and Disney FL are my only two experiences. Also, real coasters make me turn an unnatural color of pasty green, so I live vicariously through all of your designs.
I hope to get to know you all a little better and I look forward to becoming an active member here, sharing my knowledge, feedback and hoping to continue to learn. Maybe someday I'll have an Accolade to geek out about to my family and friends who just think my "roller coaster game" is "cute". -

What is with the recent influx of new members posting topics to say hello?
Perhaps we should make a single welcome topic for everyone to post hello in.
Sorry, just thinking out loud, nothing against you Brad, judging by your introduction you will go on to become a decent member here, so welcome aboard -

^Fact is you don't actually NEED to go to be able to build realistic stuff, I mean thereare enough sources on the internet alone to make great parks of.
All I can say is welcome MATEY and I hope you'll enjoy this site as we all do here, I hope to see some parks or at least screens from you soon since you really got me curious
Welcome and have fun. also always feel free to drop a pm when you need help or something. -

That's strange SSSammy, considering that you are British I would have guessed you would have at least been to Alton Towers or Thorpe Park.
Welcome aboard nuvopirate. Hope you enjoy your stay. -

I just gotta state on forehand.. that ninjas are better than pirates but we all gotta agree that cowboys are the douchebaggiest from all of them. -
