So, the purpose of this thread is to name a random "fact"/ piece of information. Mostly pertaining to such themes as humor/ insanity/ "The History Channel"/ idiocy/ President Obama/ 911 conspiracy-idiocies/ 2012/ The beginning of time/ other conspiracy-theories... man, whatever...
I'll start...
In 2012, the aliens will invade Earth and reveal to us they were once dolphins in the Earth ocean... but they evolved quicker than us and constructed the highest technological advancements in Atlantis... then disappeared to Alpha Centauri... and are now awaiting the arrival of this big ol' meteor looking space ship which contains a bunch of lizard-looking morons whom wish to destroy the Earth and make the former dolphins and humans alike their slaves. These former dolphins, now known as Grey E.B.E.s' simply wish to continue their race through cloning, though their DNA get's weaker through each clone, meaning they'll have to breed even more with humans (as they did with monkeys in order to jump-start human evolution ) for the purpose to preserve their race and defeat these lizard idiots.

Quebec attempted to secede from Canada in 1995, but the vote fell short by less than 1%.
A referendum in Canada to determine whether Quebec would become a sovereign state or remain a Canadian province ended up being a nail-biter. Only 50.6% of the voters voted “No” with 49.4% voting “Yes” on the 1995 Quebec referendum. The federalists ended up with just 54,288 more votes than the separatists. The number of people that changed history by preventing what could possibly have been the formation of a new North American country could all have fit comfortably inside Yankee Stadium. -

Riding a rollercoaster can temporarily 'cure' asthma.
You would think an asthmatic person wouldn’t be caught dead riding a coaster, but positive emotional stress of riding a rollercoaster can actually interfere with their breathing troubles! A recent study showed that subjects’ dyspnea, or labored breathing, was higher just before the ride than immediately after it. This suggests that the asthmatic individuals tend to interpret their dyspnea through the lens of their emotional state. Most often this will cause them to overestimate or underestimate the dyspneic effects, depending on their level of positive or negative emotion. -

Most of your DNA is inactive (doesn't express itself). If it were active, most of it would have killed you.

83% of prostitutes have Facebook pages.
This is according to a study done by Columbia University researcher Sudhir Venkatesh. Many of these “working girls” switched over to the site after Craigslist rid itself of the “adult services” category. Venkatesh discovered that about a quarter of each woman’s clients came from the social networking site, while 31% were still provided by escort services. Seeing as how friendships and even marriages are often formed through these networks, it is not surprising to see Facebook’s social advantages applied to nightly transactions.
