It would be nice if I could also abstain from some of the options to vote. I barely check the board, just look at the parks and the coasters. So I really can't vote for the most promising person or the most helpful one around.

One thing I would suggest now that we have this rating system is that there should also be an overall MVP of Parkmaking for each year, maybe give it some prestigious title such as 'The Iris' or 'The Natelox'. It would serve as a sort of Lombardi Trophy of NE, something officially won through actual score rather than vote. I'd say it'd simply be whoever has the most points in a single calender year earns the title

There would be some sort of banner with the year on it that could be placed in the sig of each year's winner. I really think this would help spark productivity especially in the later months of the year

Essentially it would replace the active rankings, with the only difference being you don't lose points until the end of the year when the whole list is wiped clean

The banners sound interesting, though I'd like to keep the ranking system as it is.

The ranking system would pretty much be the same
Active Rankings would really only be affected once a year, while the Hall of Fame would be unaffected

Or there could just be a third list of rankings named the '2011 Rankings' to go along with Active Rankings and the Hall of Fame, but that might be too much on the admins

The problem would be towards the end of the year since the person submitting the park has no control as to when it is released thus those potential points would go towards the next years total should there be a delay in the release prep.

The rule could simply be as long as the park is submitted before it is January 1st in all time zones it will be counted towards the previous year
I just did a quick run through for 2010 (not including honorary mentions in the totals) and came up with these results, sorry if I left anybody in this point-range out

I am not saying an award should be given for this year, but I like these results because it shows how crucial having a spotlight would be in winning the title, yet it is not enough on its own. These numbers also take into account not just solo projects but what these parkmakers contributed to other parks in the community
