    Dear "who-ever-reads-this",

My name is Jürgen Menger, I'm 42 years old and I'm working as a Manager for a new Amusement-Park-Group, that was just founded, called "Grüner Stern Erlebnisbetrieb". Im writing this in English, because I don't know, who I'm ever going to show my letters. We just bought an old piece of land somewhere in the south of Bavaria, quite close to Munich. I was told an old Park existed here before World War 2. But it was destroyed and until today nobody hat interest in these hills, where everything slowly began to rust and rot.

Until now, as I said. We bought the whole area. Eveyrthing will be built up again. But as the area is quite difficult to use and there's so much trash left from that long time, it'll be a big challenge to get things going here.

It's late 1971 and we're trying to get things ready for the 1972 season. We won't have much to offer until then, but our major aim is to get the park clean and have our first attractions.
But as you'll see in my next letters it won't be easy. Just let me show you a few photos we shot from the area, while we're just getting it clean. Some things will never be used again, it's full of rust and so on. Be happy our photos were shot on low quality and you don't see the actual "colors" of this place.

The old main-attraction, about which is no information left is already part of the forrest. Just like the old boat-station for the small sea. Even the fences are gone, maybe someone has just simply stolen them , I don't even care.

We already started building the old buildings again 2 weeks ago, but there are still cans and barrels laying around.

Surpsingly, the old attraction near the entrance, simply called "Achterbahn" (Rollercoaster) was cleaned in a few days and still functional. Never would have thought of hoping that!

But I guess except a few buidlings we'll have to renew almost everything, so wait for my next notice. I'll shoot more photos of our work.

    Stay tuned!

    Great idea,I like it.

Nice idea and concept. Execution of it is a bit rusty. Also can you use a host other than lupiload? its such an annoyance to use.
  • Cocoa%s's Photo
You should use the automatic b&w/old style filter in picasa, it looks much more genuine.

    Great Idea!
I really like the building on the second picture, but I dont like the "Achterbahn". Neither the Layout (maybe a bit more compact with less height (also niedriger und kompakter) nor the station!

Thanks a lot for the replies! (:

    @ LOAE: Thanks a lot!

@ Louis: Thank you, too. I'd like to! Can you give me a better uploader? I don't know which one is the best....

@ Cocoa: Jürgen has bought a Camera for Color-Pictures now. ;)

@ MCI: That's not a problem, as planned, it was already removed! New photos will be shown with the next letter today when I have a better Uploader!

    Greets.

As nobody seems to be interested in giving me a better Uploader for the pics, I'll just continue with the old one!

    Hi again,
it's Jürgen again! Still writing about the process of the park. We finally managed to remove all the rust and trash. That sould have been the biggest problem!
As planned, the "Kinderkarussel" and the "Achterbahn" and the "Bootsverleih" as well, were removed. They were replaced by equal attractions before the new season comes too close for work.

The new version of the coasters will simply be called "Achterbahn" again.
We have a new exciting attraction called "Drehkreisel", which may be translated with "Spinning wheel".
A new exciting Attraction called "Donnertrog" which means "Thunderpan".

The parks area still is very small, but we don't have big plans for the first season.

Let's talk about my new photos, shot with a color-cam this time:
We have the "Achterbahn" here, a special Coaster, custom-made by the Zierer-Company. Note: Area's not finished yet.
The station's supposed to look modern, I guess the architects did an awesome job there!

The entrance area is becoming more and more what it's supposed to like in 1972. The entrance-building is finished, the house next to it is for management. And there you can already see the "Drehkreisel". Finishing the rest of the area is up next, I'm excited to see what our workers will do there!

    Wait for the next letter!

I don't like the layout of that mini coaster, it seems so quickly made..
kinda the same with the buildings :c
  • h3r3stheKrak3n.%s's Photo
Okay, first: Thanks for the Upload-Sites, will try these ones now.

@ chorkiel: I actually changed it a few times, it's supposed to look like a typical Zierer!

    check:

    http://rcdb.com/994.htm?p=26353

    for example.

I'm slowly getting back to CSO, that's why I have chosen this "Evolution"-Concept. The Park evolves with my slowly regained CSO-skills.

While I can see what you're shooting for there, I have to agree with Chorkie...it seems like you didn't really put much thought into the layout. Not that I'm an expert on Zierers or anything but it appears that there are more 'out and back' sections whereas yours just kind of meanders from the lift to the finish with no real point.
  • h3r3stheKrak3n.%s's Photo
Okay, I'm gonna try again! I actually build the Coasters very different from this usually, but I wanted to stick to the old-school-feeling and I thought my other layouts wouldn't fit here. ;)

And actually it took me a lot of time, as I changed it very often. ;)
