or you just save the game
do alt tab
right click on the rct2 process in the taskbar and click to close it.
now it will close instantly. -

Yeah just having a trapper error do something positive for you is awesome like passing a cold to someone you don't like...
Okay, I was a little lazy on this update, but the next few should be pretty useful. -

in that case
Take the twister rollercoaster. build one piece of straight track (no station what so ever) and try to close the construction window (with the crossbuton)
there you go fastes error trapper I can get I think. -

Fucking idiot. Are you really that lazy and impatient Kumba? I had a good laugh about reading your tutorial about this instant-rct2-crash-shutdown thing -

Sorry Leo, I can do that with no trapper error, must just be the Dutch version of RCT2
Useful stuff is on deck. Stuff like merging forward and backwards, stand alone cars, extra staff colors, ect... -

^Yah I want to know stand alone cars, like using monorails as stalls in LL. and the like.
I thought the quick-exit rct2 was funny, but I can't see how going into 8cars and using MOM will be any faster than just quitting. I will try the track one though -

One annoying thing about RCT is that when you exit a park you still need to exit the game. Sure sometimes it's only a matter of seconds, but if your lazy and impatience like me an instant exit is best. There are two good ways to do this. The method you can use in any park is to select a ride with large turns and build a large left turn. There is a glitch in this track piece, so when it's built (and only build that piece) and deleted the game gets an error trapper and crashes. Sure your game just crashed, but as long as it was saved first there really is no harm done.
Alt + F4 after a save does the trick with Windows XP, instantly takes me to desktop -

A slightly faster way is to build that same track piece and then use 8Cars object manipulation to raise or lower part of the track. Once it's raised or lower a simple right-click will crash RCT2 and end your game in a split-second!
But, doesn't it actually take longer to do that than the mere few seconds it takes to exit the game normally? Then again.......I guess if you're on crack those few seconds spent sitting idly while waiting for the game to exit can seem excruciatingly long. So, it would probably seem quicker to go through the extra effort and keep those twitchy fingers busy. Only Kumba could come up with this -

I'm assuming the last one was intended as a joke.
btw, am I the only one who hates when people post pictures with the gridlines on? -
K0NG Offline
^ The first line was absolutely serious. The rest was only semi-serious.
And yeah, I'm not real fond of seeing gridlines either (actually, I don't see the need to have them on when they appear whenever you have any land, water or object window open anyway)...or rain (but, I'm sure that I've mentioned that previously). -

Yeah, if you go to 8cars, you might as well right-click the RCT2 icon in the taskbar and hit "Close" -

Really tho, I do hope to update this in the not to distant future. -

Bump!
Added a kinda 5th tip with a link to a DL of the RCT2 trainers I use and the DL includes a short How-to on their best usages.
If you have issues with land errors and black holes in your parks I suggest you have a look at it... K0NG -

I have a request for a possible hack tip. I myself am still looking for a successful way to incorporate ride boosters found on Disneyland's California Screamin without changing the lift hill speed.

I haven't really been able to figure out how to shoestring yet, but it seems that the shoestring option is really a short term solution (not a long term solution) and will eventually get off track. Moreover, it would need to repeat this launch every time. -
Levis Offline
you could do it with shoestringing. I got a shoestring coaster running in TOMB which runs fine for about 20 hours straight. then it needs to be resetted once ... so thats no problem
but you could also do this with carefully timing blocksections. -

Ok, so I've been using 1.32 for MOM, toggle chain and the hut hack (never for ZCing)...1.302 for ride stats, staff and ZC/restore (pretty much everything except MOM, toggle and hut hack). Could that (1.302) be my problem? Because I still get land spikes/black holes on a semi-regular basis and often lose work because of having to go back to my last save. Thankfully, I've taught myself to save very often...but occasionally, I'll lose a good amount of work that I knocked out rather quickly between saves.Bump!
