Well, they're not actually electrical, just themed to look as such. Still think they need to be changed? I kinda dig 'em.
  • Splitvision%s's Photo
I see. I think they look alright, I like the touch of red, but I still think more "solid" fences such as glass would be better, that would be more "idiot-proof" and would make more sense in that situation. Glass with red trims? Or keep it as it is ;)

You couldn't take a picture from the stairs of such a large object though.

^ Hmmm, thanks buddy. Guess I should rethink the whole thing. Good eye, and thanks again. :) ;)

Just to show what's been done lately, which isn't much, but a lot of ideas are starting to take shape. Mainly being worked-out is Discoverai's history (involving such things as pyramids and the Discoverai culture and people), along with the ecology of the land. You'll also see more of how the space travel and alien planets will function within the actual park (The planets will be surrounded by murals acting as the sky-lines for each star). Plus, Olympus Mons is being worked on just a little.

Also, to more show how the various zooms and angles will provide different atmospheric experiences, here's a slightly random zoom and angle:

Just curious, 'cause I don't get a whole lot of replies in this thread.. is there really any interest in this project?.. or should I just give up? If I'm on a wrong path RCT-wise, please let me know.. I just get the impression not a lot of people care about this park..

It's all cool, I just need to know if there's interest here or not.. I'm thinking about releasing it unofficially and not finishing/ submitting for accolade.

I'm interested in anything RCT, and you show some real creativity in your work.

I'm not interested in overview shots, though. Make teaser screens or just big fully-zoomed in screen of your best areas of the park. I don't really care about the overview except for to see completion and what not.

But no, keep at it man! :D

If you feel this way, then view the park, you will miss out on more than half of what I am trying to offer with this park..

Different zooms and angles are key to the full experience I am trying to create, here.

Thing is...what you're showing here, as you yourself put it, "isn't much" as far as being different than what you've shown before. Particularly on a project like this, if there isn't much that's changed or progressed, there isn't much to comment on. I think you'll get a lot more feedback if you show things that are new and exciting (when you have them) than to post overviews that don't seem much different from your last ones. Remember...we, as viewers here, don't know what's been done since the last update, and if all we see is a zoomed out aerial view, it's really tough to comment/critique anything.

^ Thanks, buddy. That makes complete sense. I just see that even when I post screens which show something new/ different (within the project), I still don't get a lot of replies. Overall, not a lot of replies are made between screens, but a lot of views. For whatever that's worth.. guess I'm not a good judge on if people are interested or not..

TC - This is one of those projects that is difficult to get my head around because it just so out there (pun intended).

I've always enjoyed your workand the thought process you have put into this one is exceptional. In short, keep up the good work

Which is why I've decided to finish this and send it in.. it seems no one will be able to wrap their heads around it until they'll be able to zoom in-and-out, switch the angles, THINK about their surroundings, and explore the area on their own terms..

You've posted pictures of the same work so many times in so many threads that there is literally nothing good or bad, constructive or destructive, that can be said. If you continually say that this is something that has to be apppreciated by in total by the viewer, then wait until it's done to show more screens. Otherwise, each new screen and the release will meet tepid reviews at best.

alright, uh.. you don't get this park.. at all.

sometimes you have to make the effort to make something interesting or understandable. can't really critisise someone for not understanding if it isn't clear int he first place.
  • Timothy Cross%s's Photo
Well, the planning is well thought-out and not everything has been put into action in-game, but let me know, what isn't clear or not understandable? Let me know so I can work on it..

Well you know that I follow this with great interest, tim, as do many others I' m sure. I think the reason for the "less-than-usual" amount of replies on your screens are mainly due to the unusual style of both their content and the way you present them. In my eyes, there's nothing wrong with your method, but I can definately see why many choose to skate over leaving a comment. I had the same feeling with the space magazine, initially there were many comments but it slowly faded, and it felt like noone was reading the back story which I put a lot of effort in. But although I was a bit disappointed by that in the beginning, I soon realised I couldn't expect loads of input every time I updated, since it really isn't everyone's cup o' tea. I think you just have to respect that, and I've decided to keep putting a lot of effort in my advertising even though it might slip past most people. I'll be doing it for my own enjoyment, and I think it's essential that you can do that too.

As for your most recent screen, I think it looks pretty. Landscaping is your strongest skill and an overview clearly shows that. However I'm with those who asked for more close-up shots, I'm certain they'll feature some really interesting details and features. Keep it up, you can always count on me to leave some feedback :)

    wow.. just fucking wow !

People probably aren't probably commenting on this because it's not the usual roller coaster-themepark-fantasy parks they come here for.

it's a great idea and widens the diversity of parks here and proves that RCT is just not for making amusement parks. and it's executed good as well.

please finish this so it'll mark its permanent place in the database.

I love you Split. I really do..

Thanks bud! Never thought I would get a comment like that.. well I got similar replies to Fantastic Wonders, but that was at RCTstation. In fact, Phatage is the only one in existence to fully appreciate that park..

Well, it's a theme park. Something you might find in Dubai. But thanks, people just can't grasp it because I'm not building to an already established type of park. Hell, what the crap is Epcot supposed to be?

And now, a somewhat unrelated poem by FantastiCo:

    "The fish who smoked pot"

When the birds are of allusiveness

    the fish... oh the fish..

the fish eat the birds, hunger no matter,

and the fish will fly to Heaven..

whoever said there's plenty of fish in the sea?

    Don't you see?

They haven't amongst them a memory.
