yah so it appears TPR is setting up a sort of rct/nl database. what do you think about it? see it as healthy competition, or a draw away from here? or maybe as a place to suck up all of the crappy parks that seem to cause so much controversy in our database. anyway, just thought I would share it here, I couldn't really think of any other place to put it...

And btw, what happened to atari's efforts to set up accolades? did that every get anywhere?

Eh, I dont see the competition. TPR have always had the gaming section, this is just a slight expansion. It will have no effect to this site whatsoever, just like RCTSpace's Exchange.

Louis! correct. and the more sites have an RCT presence the better. More chance of drawing the ever more elusive newbie :)

There is no way TPR will ever be any kind of competition to NE. TPR is not now or ever will be dedicated to just RCT/RCT2 like this site is. As for sucking up the "crappy" parks, to be honest I see more bad parks around here than I have ever seen at TPR. The members who keep uploading bad parks (not finished, horrible layouts etc.) here at NE never post at TPR so I don't know where they came from. Atari maybe?

The elusive newbie Roomie mentioned. NE has already received many new good members from TPR. In the last year alone 6 TPR members have moved up to NE and there are 3 more that are getting close. Notice I said moved up. This is "THE" place to move upto and when I see someone really improve his/her game I always encourage them to give their park/design to NE and see what happens. This Christmas contest Roomie has put together will be bringing at least 2 of them out into the world of NE (if they finish on time that is). One is even NCS.

    Sorry kind of off topic...

Anyway, the idea behind TPR's database is to clean out the forum and put everything is one search-able place. Also give members a place to store their creations. With so many RCT and NL sites falling off the face of the earth and taking all their content with them TPR is trying to make a safe place to store items for the game(s) where anyone now or in the future can have access to it for a long time to come.

they just set up a think where if your park gets 500 points in rating you win a free DVD. I'm sure we could dominate over there :p but I can't really be bothered.

Dmax- Dude, you make it sound as if you have to be some sort of god at the game to even join this site. "Moved up to NE"? We get some sort of elitist from attitudes like yours. Yea, Im glad these people have come over, but its like theres some sort of restrition or something. The only true limiting factor as to whether or not yu will be welcomed here is whether or not you actually want to try and improve yourself and your not an a-hole towards the forumers.

Atleast, thats how I percieve it.

moved up to NE means moved up to NE's standard of accolades and stuff. as much as you guys want NE to keep producing quality stuff so do we and when really noob players come over here it creates a bad image of TPR players.

Guys do you think you could drop this whole subject now? We aren't the only RCT site out there, most sites offer similar things to us, it doesn't matter who done what first, it's not even worth talking about.

If this keeps on being discussed then people are going to think we aren't the friendly and welcoming site we always aim to be.

fuck yeah guys. if ne becomes arrogant i'm out of here for good.
