Am I the only one who feels literally nothing from these screens? Okay they're good technically, but there is no atmosphere, it's very stale.

    I agree completely.

To me that first screen doesn't look like an attraction park but more like a city by a bay or something.

You uncultured swine. This is gold.

    This is incredible work! :D

It's because all the windows and doors are dark, it looks uninviting. Some lamps and people would help, too.

When a theme park decides to make a New York area of the park usually they want it to seem as authentic as possible, they don't want it to look like an attraction. So what you said would actually be a good thing

I completely disagree though and think this clearly looks like an amusement park, especially with the white cover you added. I also think it looks great tho

I seriously don't get what people are talking about.

Comet is right, not everything in a theme park has to look bright-yellow, pink,
plastic and fake. (Take a look at Disneysea i'd say) The dark windows are
true to the theme, and the small scale already makes it themeparky.
The only other argument I can think of is the lack of peeps and street flare,
which is simply not added yet.
nin is right, it's just not up to full potential yet.

So what is it, other than a feeling, that could be based on jealousy for all I know..

Hi, thanks for all the good comments, I know what some of you mean, and there is definitely still under construction, so there will come stands, lamps, bins etc. i will see what i can do at the supports.
see you at the next update !

I didn't say it because of the architecture, I said it for the lack of attractions and shops/stalls and such. There is nothing to do in that place.

I'm not saying this is bad or something but it just lacks any form of an amusement park feel for me.
  • gijssie1234%s's Photo
i understand your opinion Chorkiel, But the shops and stalls will be instalated later at the time. xD
But to stay in the Universal feeling you have to observate the real parks verry much, and that's not such easy.
I've got more than 1000 pictures only from all the universal park and more than 3000 of other parks :p
That's how i get my inspiration.

So, this topic was created pretty much exactly a year ago, and he still hasn't built any paths. Right.

There's just something wrong with that, I'm sorry. I have lost faith in this project. Even more extreme, I have been tortured with beautiful and promising screens of parks that were eaten by the sudden death of hard drives, the spontaneous vanishing of players, or otherwise obscure, shady and dubious reasons, for so many years, that I developed a self-protective mechanism against the associated disappointment that results from these events, which causes me to distance myself "emotionally" from their screens and projects. And this project here is a wonderful prime example of such case.

And, in turn, I hate you, gijssie :)

posix, its amazing how you are so passionate and critical about this 'game' that you don't even play, and this 'game' that is probably the lowest priority for people. people have real lives they have to take care of, and i'm sure you know that. it's a game.

how is it that you are critiquing gijssie not for his actual work hes completed, how rather 'how' he is completing his work. that just sounds ridiculous. these screens are amazing, finished or not. you make it seem like he has to follow this set of rules of park building and advertising. there are no rules. if he posts work, finished or not, you comment/critique of what is there. nobody has to post anything.

now i probably didn't word all of those random sentences very well but you get my point. and nice smiley at the end... although it doesn't take away the assholeishness tone of your stupid rant.
  • coasterfreak101%s's Photo
^Thank the Good Lord. I don't understand why we can't talk about how these screens are beautiful. So what if they're in-progress? I can't see why that should matter at all. This is his thread, so let him build how he wants to. It's eight pages long now, and you could probably delete five pages of BS about how people want to see a screen with a path in it.
  • gijssie1234%s's Photo
Thanks Coasterfreak and RMM xD , I've got a life, but when i'm free i play this game, but still i'm going out and drink a lot :p and have fun with friends, but please , we all come together on this site to make cool parks, realistic, or a parks out of your dreams.

Thats the whole point of this site, and not to say people how they have to play a game or somthing like that.
we help eachother and give tips and tricks.
So now i want only comment's about the Park , even when you don't like it.

    Thanks :mantis:

Oh my god, and I thought my post was actually kind of funny. Exaggeration, sarcasm, cynicism. How serious do you think I was?

The sense of the site, rules by which to play, the morality of criticising, and priorities in life?!? Easy folks, I'm not this asshole you want to make me out to be here.

gijssie, feel free to be your path-o-phobic self. But let me tell you I once built half a park without paths and it ended up being cancelled. I don't want your park to go down the same road, because indeed, the screens look very nice, as I've posted numerous times in this topic over the past year, I'm positive.
  • FredD%s's Photo
It looks amazing :o And the screens looks much better with paths on. Please finish this!
