Ask the Experts / 8 CARS PROBLEM

I have a problem with this "easy" hack and it's really annoying....it's like the "toggle chain" function on 8 cars DOES NOT work for me AT ALL!

I mean I do EVERYTHING I'm supposed to do...



I build the coaster of course, not adding a lift hill, but a vertical section where I plan to put one...



Then I change the color of the lift section (alternative color #1)

Then I go to 8 cars....and select the coaster from the "Edit Rides" section

Then I choose (alternative color 1) from the "Color Scheme (for special actions)" section.

Then I click "toggle chain", then apply, and then CANCEL...(I've tried "apply, OK" as well)



I then TEST the ride, and by the time it gets up to the "lift hill",



It acts like the chain isn't even there, and the hack doesn't seem to work so it rolls back!

Now I've tried a number of variations, but NONE of them seem to work! What could be the problem? AM I doing something wrong? Why is this shit not working???

No I am running windows XP, so you would think that it would work?

Try removing the block brake right before the lift segment, it may have something to do with occupying two block sections at once.

it's just straight up not applied lift.

Try this.

- Open the newer 8cars and an older version
- Open the rides menu in both 8cars
- Click the toggle chain and colour scheme stuff in the newer 8cars window
- Click OK in the Old 8Cars window
- Click cancel in the newer 8cars window

please show a screenshot of the edit rides screen just before you click apply/ok

maybe it has something to do with the option flat to steep track. I don't think lifts go up flat to steep tracks. Try with flat, shallow, steep, vertical track
