I'd also say get enough good hacking techniques to get this as good as you can get it,
Especially if you're aiming for realism with this.

I really really like these layouts given what I was expecting. A refreshingly different approach - reminding us all the game is called "ROLLER COASTER tycoon"! Keep it up, some custom flat rides would suit this style of building well I think.

Meh, I dont really find this interesting as to be brutally honest its just a load of generic looking coasters in a field. I know that comes across rude, I don't mean to be. Allow me to explain...

I can understand why you've felt the need to map the park out ahead of time, but in all honesty I think its a waste of time, and ultimately works against you...

    - Planning is no fun. Implementing an idea (aka building) is.
    - The final product will look nothing like your plans.
    - Areas should flow naturally, but you're going to have to do some serious 'filler' work to mesh these zones together.
    - You are, by default, restricting your imagination.
    - You are trying to put all of your great ideas into one big cauldron all at once, spending little time actually developing them.

I will give you some tips, these may or may not work for you, but this is how I work:
    - Build, build build. If it looks crap, rebuild.
    - Constantly evaluate your own work, "is this interesting?"
    - Really focus on building your coasters. What I mean by this is, not just the layout, but how will it interact with the surroundings? What view points do you want the peeps to have of the coaster? Do you really want it to just take them out of a station, up and down, left and right, upside down, in the middle of a big field? Or do you want the coaster to be AROUND them, intimidating them from above, swooping underneath them, twisting around them? You want it to be thrilling to watch AND to ride.
    - Do what you enjoy best. I guarantee that eventually slapping coasters all over the show will get boring, and that's when you will start getting a buzz of building really intricate rides.
    - Take your time

Anyway, this post killed about 37 mins of my working day, which I'm happy about. But I must now look busy.

    Good luck x
