Wow guys, the work you've put into this is truly astonishing and I think the improvements are definitely worth the effort. I'm so happy you were able to preserve (and at the same time call attention to) this site's history while making these updates. Hats off for not only having the vision to do this, but the proper execution to accomplish it. Thanks!

Just a quick thought, even though this new system with jobs and subsciptions seems to be pretty straightforward, maybe you could post a small guide in the relprep forums? Just so that no-one will be left guessing.

I had no idea this was going to be up so quickly. Great job Curt and Pos; you guys have truly outdone yourselves in every sense of the word.

Do the shares update automatically into the Hall of Fame? (now it doesn't seem to update)
I love the shares idea btw, gives credit where credit is due and you get a good idea who did the most on a park..

It's scary how good this site is. I never would have thought it could get this good. It's gonna take a while to fully get into everything but I can't wait till it becomes second nature. Lol Gee how selfish I was asking you to work on a park the other day. You should have said

sf, the rankings update once a day. a huge script does it all. it takes considerable time to update because we just have so many parks that all depreciate and stuff, and then today everybody updated their shares so it's a lot to take in for the system. it takes place automatically and the rankings will say "Currently recalculating" during the process.

Well I did two areas, finished off like 3 and did all the final touches... still yeah maybe that was a little to high. I was pretty honest with all my shares, finished them a few days ago and am working on my write-up. 44 write-ups that is a lot

I dont think this was answered by the first post. Will we get our write-up & logo numbers updated? Like mine says 1 so far because I've only submitted 1 into the new system, but obviously i've written more than 1, just wondering if these will eventually be updated?

Nah leave it that way Hans. You actually did most of the job (of course my part was better ). However sharing, in general, could be discussed via aim/msn, no need for an individual topic.

louis, lol, i think we forgot to remove the stats for non-panelist jobs from the top of posts. initially, we wanted to create a database of all the jobs people have been doing. but soon we noticed this wasn't very easy because who can tell me who did the wirte-up and logo for, say, this design from 2002: http://nedesigns.com...124&park_id=252

was it iris? was it corkscrewed? maybe it was adix? or someone else? and who did the logo? thus we didn't know how to get hold of this information and felt we would better focus on other more important features instead. also, the whole idea that it automatically feeds a db of "completed jobs" by various people turned out to be harder to create than the park database, so we dropped it. for now.

Wow, you even got a status with submissions currently in the relprep!
I'm still amazed about all the new little functionalities ne4 has!

I am never going to stop building.

This is just how I feel. I now have a frenzied excitement to keep building so my status doesn't drop!

Okay, after thinking all day about it, now I've got some complaints/suggestions.

First of all, I hate to see parkmakers go. Its such an important part of ne history- maybe it could be done in another way. For example, a parkmaker could be required to have some amount of points (say 1200), have released at least one spotlight or say, 2 golds, and get 70% approval by the accolade panel. Maybe they could get a shiny medal on their page or a special color for their rank number, nothing serious, just the fact that they are a parkmaker. I feel like parkmakers are just so ground in ne history that they should be around.

I don't think the news update thing should be on the front page (or at least not at the top of the list- maybe on the side or something). The news forum rarely gets updated, and unless there is a spotlight or something else serious, there is really no need for it. Even now one of the links in it leads back to a thread from March.

That's about it, but there is a bug- I went to change my signature and all of the tags and stuff were changed so when I hit submit my sig was just a jumble of html code. I had to manually go through it and fix every tag to make images, links, etc. work.

But, ne4 still has way more pros than cons.

EDIT: oh yah one more thing. Is the database going to contain every park ever made (that we can find of course) or just ones released on ne/damination? Like all the old rctavenged parks and from Korean and other sites. I think thats what you're going for and so this is very exciting indeed.

As much as I love the update, I really dislike how unwieldy the search function has become. Especially for a newbie like me - I look up quite a few things while working through the piles of useful data in the forums!
