Geewhzz?
Your server says I am from Norway, but I am in the home of my parents, who have a dutch IP adress ...
Why is this?
I was online with my Ipod Touch last night, maybe that is causing this problem? -

My guess: most likely either you or your ISP is running through a proxy server in Norway.Geewhzz?

With the release of NE4, getting a spotlight isn't as good as it used to be and is not much better than a gold.
are you fucking high, jagkid?
gold = 7x
spotlight = 13x
MASSIVE difference.
LinkI am talking about in terms of recognition. If you got a spotlight, you get a parkmaker page and are remembered, it isn't the same now.
I have to agree with jaguarkid... I don't have the feeling anymore that winning spotlight makes you immortal. You get a lot of points, but the park itself vanishes from the homepage and the banner very quickly and dissolves into the huge database. The spotlight forum is merged with the release forum, where the greatest parks of all time are outnumbered by the 'crappy' releases. On top of that, the release forum is invisible. What makes a spotlight so special nowadays? It doesn't benefit the park, it only benefits the parkmaker...
How does a new member or someone who accidentally visits the site know what spotlights are/mean and where they are to find? A filter option in the database isn't really informative. I think the solution is simple... Just bring back the spotlight page like it used to be. A page with a small explanation about spotlights in general and below a list of logos. The scrolling on the old site was stupid, but you can fix that with smaller logos or a grid insetad of a list.
This is definately not NE3-sentiment. -

Yeah I didn't know this was here but I again agree with Liam. They are the parks that rock our community and no offence to frags but I feel EPWS was just another release. -

How about having the top 10/20/30 parks showing beside the player rankings, based on the points? It wouldn't be long enough to display all the spotlights (the database says 59), but you would get the best of the best (the spotlights with the best scores). It'd be like a hall of fame, for parks. The fun thing about that is that it'd be "live", so let's say Dreamport recieves enough points when released, it'll appear in the hall of fame and knock the spotlight furthest down on the list out of it. If you have it on the first page, it'll be very obvious for every visitor, new or regular, to see which parks you ought to check out the most. It makes sense since the best players also are displayed at the first page, and it would be a nice complement to that list. Just a thought
EDIT: I'm stupid. Only 4 spotlights have been voted on by the accolade panelists. If you'd list the top 30 parks based on points you'd get the 4 spotlights, canthose valley, BGNA, and then designs and golds, mostly designs. But maybe it'd be worth the work if the panel voted on old spotlights? So as to get a true ranking. -

Voting on old Spotlights sounds fun to me, but what happens if a park gets a score of let's say 13? That would be confusing. The score might not be accurate anyway.
A few pages back I suggested a favourites system; each member can select ~25 parks to make a personal chart in their profile. Like the parkmaker ranks, park ranks solely based on the favourites score will be calculated frequently. -

Hmm yeah the favourites system is a nice one, but it could also give a skewed view of which parks are "best". Parks which are already known well and perhaps made by a certain member will recieve more votes, than older, more obscure parks even though the latter might be "better". Some haven't seen all the parks in the categories that are concerned when it comes to a top list of parks, such as spotlights, golds, high placed entries in contests etc. Of course, the panelists voting is purely subjective aswell, but if every park in the database that has potential to be on the top list is voted on, that'll be the fairest list there can be. BTW, how would it work more in detail? would the parks that get the most mentions of a certain place in everyone's favourite lists be listed there in total? for example, if Magic realms is most frequently listed at #3 by everyone, would that be where it would be displayed? Or would the park with the most mentions in total be listed on top? In any case, I think adding a new system to rank parks would just be confusing. Using the panelist ratings would be cleaner, easier (wouldn't have to program the new system) fairer, and more consistent IMO. The top parkmakers are calculated on points, and so should the top parks be too. -

i think the latest spotlight staying on the top banner until the next spotlight might work. -

I was not running an proxy, and my ISP at my parents home, is a different one I have here at my own place.Cena is running on a proxy, he was a few minutes from dutch this afternoon.
I am not running a proxy by myself.
I still think this is weird ... It's cool to be the only Norwegian parkmaker, but I am not from Norway. -

Opera as a browser? Yes, I always have been using Opera ... -

Deleting all privacy settings did the job, only removing the cookies somehow didn't ... (tried that already) maybe it was because Opera can save all data or something .
Austin, go to Menu in opera, then to settings, then delete private settings (or something like that, I have the dutch version). -

It's probablly because I am using opera for android on my phone, plus IE on my computer and safari on my other phone but it started when I used opera.
