What EXACTLY is one year in game compared to real time? Or does it vary on the computer? -

I've heard the game can be hex edited for speed. I'm not so sure, maybe 90 minutes? Why not use a stopwatch? -

depends on cpu speed as far as i know. i assume if an area is really detailed and you get lag the time will go slower. -

An RCT year is around 1 hour. If I'm remembering right and it's 10 seconds an RCT day then it would be almost exactly an hour.
But there's the lag gee mentioned and other factors, so rounding it up to an hour would be the best I think. -

Nevermind... I didn't think they counted the years that way.Edited by That Guy, 06 July 2010 - 10:50 PM.

as gee says it depens on your processor speed. there is no real value for a day. it just has to make a number of "cycles" to finnish a day and when its done with that it starts again. so the faster your computer is able to do that the faster a day is. -

I remember a similar topic by tyandor back in the days...
So, this means that you can't really measure building time in RCT years. Ha! xD -

So true because most of the time I have it running while I am AFK. So if you see year 50 in a screen from me, it would probably be year 35~40 at someone else with a similar CPU clockspeed. -

well are we going to compare?
for me (on my computer) a rct2 year is equal to about 40 minutes. -

It's about 50 minutes for me, but I run RCT on a laptop which affects the speed I'm sure.
