Alright, so like the title says, i went for a swim with my phone in my pocket. I was in the pool for like 5 mins before i realized the phone was in my pocket. I took it apart and let it dry in the sun all day, and now im hair drying it. Any other ways you guys know that might salvage my phone?

    Thanks, haha,
    Taylor

I've dropped a Samsung in the sink and a Nokia in a puddle and both started working again after a few days. I left them on a radiator for a couple of days. (it took 3 days until the samsung showed any life)

Not sure the chlorine will do it much good though if it was a swimming pool :S Salt Water is equally not good.

put it in a bowl a rice. completely covered. all the water will come out and it should work.

    +1

Hair dryer is a bad idea. Excessive heat will cause circuit boards to pop their components out.

    No. It's science.

Just make sure it's plain unaltered natural dry rice. Don't put your phone in Rice-a-roni....

Thanks guys... i wasnt home so i was unable to put it in rice right away, so i took it apart and let it sit for the entire afternoon before returning home and blow-drying it with a hair drier, which i did before making this topic so sorry ACE. I put it in rice all night and decided to give it a whirl this morning, and both screens worked for a good fifteen minutes until the inner screen went completely white. So, needless to say, its in the rice again, probably for another day or two. Thanks guys.

Nope you're fucked sadly...the white screen of death generally means it aint gonna work, as water damage has fried the boards....my razr did the same thing after spending a night in the snow...needless to say it worked for about a week and then it shat the bed...

^Guess what?! im not fucked!!!! just pulled it out of the rice and turned it on and voila, both screens work well! haha theres still some watermarks on the screens but it looks like i salvaged it. I still might have some problems with it so the safest bet is to get a new one, but thanks for all the help guys
