Sheesh, I'm on year 20 and I think I may cut the map nearly in half. Sometimes it sucks being such a slow builder. -

I'm in year 7...
All I have is a layout, about 1/4 of the custom supports and somewhere around 1/2-2/3 of the landscaping and path layout...
If I get all of that done by end of the day Monday I should be in the clear though.

Clearly I misinterpreted his post. When he posted "what is "that style" ?" it came across as him trying to provoke me. My mistake.
I legitimately wasn't sure what you didn't like. No big deal, just a misunderstanding; sorry I wasn't here to clear it up sooner.
Loopy: I've been playing with stand-up track as a stand-in for the new Intamin giga track as well, running single-rail under it. Obviously the single rail doesn't work everywhere though, and simulated box track isn't the hottest either. still haven't figured out what to go with. I'm a little puzzled about the corkscrew train though; "steel looping train" has been the default Intamin hyper/giga choice for as long as I can remember. -

I've seen them with the corkscrew style... I always preferred the steel looping train because the lapbars are much more in the spirit of Intamin's modern hypers... Then you get to I-305 with the Maverick style "bullshit restraint". I really hate those with a passion because the OTSR part of them is 200% unnecessary visual security... it just gives you something to bash your head on during those quick transitions...
Anywho.
On another topic I like ride track as supports, just not when done like that. You have to make the sandwich with the 'top' of the track towards the top of the track and you have to be fairly sparing about the amount of supports because they're so big and beefy! (you don't need many)

the corkscrew trains clearly look better, and more like the intamin trains. personally, i wouldn't choose the steel looping train based on the lone fact that it doesn't have the restraints. i know that's why many people choose them, but i wouldn't choose them over the better looking corkscrew trains. -

ICE CREAM CONE!!!!
I like what you did there for custom supports and the little covers over the midway there as well.
