so you wanted a contest, you nagged louis and nin to start it, then you decided it wasn't fun because it meant you had to play, and now want to move on to the next thing, designed in such a way that it will reward maximum recognition with minimum effort needed, right ...

please, stop playing the game if you don't enjoy it. look at people like natelox (past) or rctnw (today). they can just play because they want to. they don't need a contest either. it's not about "having" to play, or to meet your imaginary level of quality you must reach in order to maintain your desired reputation as a player.

But anyway, it does suck to see so many forfiets. Especcialy for louis and Nin, I know they worked pretty hard on it. I feel like an ass for not submitting something decent last round.
I atleast hope this contest spurs on some new ideas into accolades like what Nin is doing.

I just completely had no inspiration for this round.

I wanted to work on the stuff I wanted to, and didn't want to trudge through something I didn't want to build and have no fun doing it.

You know, I'm not surprised by the amount of forfeits. It's not Louis or nin's fault as they really did a good job organizing this, but this is probably why only official NE-contests would give a nice turnout.. People just like to have some 'official' recognition and that they can gain something with it.. I think now with the point system an official NE contest would do really good as people could receive lots of points for it if they do well..
That, and a lot of big names almost always show up and compete in an official NE contest, which makes it really interesting for everyone to enter..

Edited so I don't sound like a jackass. . . Theres always going to be a problem with unofficial competitions. The true players really do stand out from the crowd when things like this happen. It's not because it's a solo competition but the new guys really don't know how to finish parks these days. It's strange.

I for one am looking forward to the next official contest as I hope it will be something solo based. Louis and Nin thanks for taking the time and effort to organise this and I hope the guys that actually turned an entry in will get rewarded, two of those players shouldn't have to be punished.

This round is for the final 8, correct? I haven't been paying attention to anything except the entries, so forgive me if I'm wrong. But why not vote on ALL of the entries, and just vote for the two you think should be eliminated. Top 8 move on, adjust brackets where it needs to be done, and nobody's entry is wasted.

I'm sure everyone has there reasons, but for me I was unable to play the game last week and a good part of this week as well, so I didn't have too much time to finish my entry. What I showed in the screens topic was literally all I had done. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it up to it's true potential and submit it or simply release to the community.

Personally, when I was in the contest I made an effort to at least finish my entry. I felt that it wasn't fair to the other people who wanted to sign up but couldn't. But that's just me. Also, I agree with Posix.

Well i'm a little pissed off that I spent so much time on my entry last week, after being assured my opponent's entry would be finished, just to give him something to go up against. Turns out people just can't finish things these days.

Also, signing up to a contest, and then saying that you have no inspiration for the two weeks and wanted to build on something you enjoyed is a pretty shitty thing to do.

Having said that, can't wait to see the entries, hopefully there will be some good ones.
