I don't know why I didn't think to post this earlier. Here's one straight out of my freshman year of college. Back in December 2008, this girl Jenny who we knew from our dorm decided to have a party at her parents' house who were out of town and had just moved out from California. This already sounds like a bad high school movie in the making.
Anyways, most of my floor was going to her house for one reason or another despite how much of a bad idea we knew it was. I was one of the first people to leave to head over there along with my friends Andrew and Jon. Our suspicions of something was about to go horribly wrong raised when what should have taken 20 minutes to get to took nearly an hour due to her inaccurate driving directions. After lots of backtracking on the desert roads north of town, we finally get to the turnoff to her house where we were told to drive to the second house in the driveway which would be hers. Now we follow the road up to the second house (how hard can that be to screw up, right?). Well we get to the house, but there's only two cars there. Since we were the first ones to leave, we assumed the others were still lost for the same reason we were. Before we left, she had told us to walk right in without knocking or anything since there would be music inside and couldn't hear anyone at the door. While Andrew went to look for others who might be parked on the other side of the house, Jon and I go up to the door, I open it and step in. To our surprise, there was nobody inside but a middle aged woman who reacted the way anyone would if two kids walk into their house without knocking. I immediately knew we had fucked up badly and the second house which we were told to go to, was not the right one.
Jon and I explained to her that we were looking for our friend's house and she had told us "second house in the driveway and walk right on in because there's music." She seemed understanding, we apologized, and left to the first house in the driveway which happened to be the right house. We get there and everyone else is there because I guess we were the only ones to get the bad directions. After about 15 minutes or so, I notice headlights of a pickup truck coming towards the house from where we just were and parks out in front, engine running in all. Now we were in the other room when Jenny answered the door but apparently it was a pissed off redneck demanding to speak with the "guys who broke into his gun club." When I heard this, I knew we were totally fucked. Jenny, of course, immediately defends herself by turning us over to this stereotypical redneck who looked like Larry the Cable Guy. He then goes on to say his wife told him two guys from the other house on the street broke into his gun club, which apparently that house was. He then goes on ranting saying that what we did is a great way to get ourselves killed (no shit, if it's not the house of someone we know, yes it sure is) and if it happened again, he would kill me. I had to explain what happened again, but he didn't care that it was a mistake and all the reasons that led up to it. By now we had gathered a fairly large crowd at the door to see what was going on. Finally I told him to fuck off and let it go, but he wanted the last word and didn't leave until he had let out all his anger. That was just the beginning to an overall bad night, but I'll hold off on that. -

Oddly, I could swear I've read Sam's story before. Not to say it was copied from elsewhere or anything, but it just seemed real familiar. And Zia....dude, I think you've just watched "The Shining" one too many times. -

i've got too many stories haha.
but to make this short, here goes.
my girlfriend who i was really concerned about several months ago, broke up with me in the beginning of July. for no reason actually.
she didnt talk to me for weeks all throughout the month of June, and really just slipped away, regardless of how many times i would try calling and sending flowers. [theres only so much you can do when your girlfriend is in the hospital 7 states away]
but apparently she decided to move on and focus on her life and school and all that.
so yeah, that hurt me more than anything, and i was upset for a long time.
life goes on i guess. -

but since i dont like depressing stories, here's what has happened since then.
basically, my band has gained a lot of popularity in Florida, so we've been playing sold-out shows all over the state, and having lots of fans show up singing our songs and getting our autographs. [very strange and humbling, but still fun haha]
we've had several prominent record labels from our style of music call us up, asking us to sign to them. [more about this later]
we now have our own van, so we're able to tour.
i fell in love with an amazing girl, but she lives in california, so it was fairly bittersweet.
today i ordered her plane ticket. so she will be flying into Orlando next week in time for our show that night in Kissimmee.
its a one-way flight, and she's moving here.
i got her a job at a music magazine as a writer, and she plans to tour with us all next year.
we dont know what the future holds, or what will happen.
but its our lives, our story to write.
i'm excited:] -

Awesome to hear man. You're gonna be like the next big band. And i plan to make lots of money snitching to the press that you play a roller coaster tycoon game!!! Naww, but I hope you still get a chance to play sometimes and still be on NE, man. It'd be depressing to see you go. And the last part sounded like lyrics!

I know you aren't because I know lots of musicians are really passionate in what they do. But I hate to see a band like yours go down the drain because you never got 'big'. What was your life, slowly fades in to a hobby, then goes from there because of financial troubles, other jobs, other events and blah blah. That's why I feel really sad for small time bands that were awesome but really never made it and died off.
And you deserve to get big. You're really amazing and must have some awesome fans by what I heard from you... The Used & Defttones are the only screamo bands i listend to a lot. And this might not mean much, but your band actually, I have a craving for.. I enjoy listening to small bands like yours. That's why I'm ashamed that I listen to a generic singer like NeverShoutNever.. The lyrics have meaning but the person who sings them doesn't.. -

In:Cities, that's an awesome story. Life does go on, and you just gotta live it up. I hope the best for you and your new girl. Oh yeah, and your band. -

Don't worry. Even though it was annoying, you'll never reach the bumping majesty of RCTmasta. -
