General Chat / Internet Speed

So I just got connected to AT&T Direct DSL (where you don't need a phone line) and I'm getting just under 6MB/sec down and 19ms ping time... pretty stoked. I'm sure someone else has a much faster speed (U-Verse through AT&T has 18MB down) but yeah... excited.

Im with 02 even though it says Be. Not the fastest speed but for £7 a month for 9 months of the year you cant complain really

Depends how much uploading you do, which for me is very little

that's a fair point, but i don't know, cause whenever i'm chatting online if someone sends a file either direction its not too quick so i assume that has something to do with my connection. because i'll switch wifi connections to someone's that isn't locked and it goes pretty fast afterward. i say all of this being pretty computer illiterate so i could easily just be retarded and could just say my is internet better than everyone's.

Don't make that fault, Mb's and MB's is something different. 1 MB = 8 Mb , 1 Mb = 1/8 MB. This is the difference between bits and bytes. 


I just moved to my own flat, and the internet abbo here is kinda slow, but me and my housemates are looking for a faster connection, probably gonna me a 50 mbit or higher (since Ziggo is available here, one of the fastest ISP's here).
