I think the red/blue transition is supposed to simulate where the supports actually attach to the track itself. Maybe try putting some flanges at those points to accentuate that.

agreed. Although the lift support columns to blend into one a bit. Not sure if thats unavoidable though.

The supports would either blend in together or look weird, they look better when then blend together.
