When was the last time you saw a giant concrete block for a restaurant at an amusement park?
  • jonroost%s's Photo

Yes I have been to parks, where do you think Im getting these Ideas from, And also dont give me no bullshit about things made in 5 minutes because I do plan ahead!!! I kinda sorta have this parks history in my head. And all I gotta do is convert thought to RCT3 lol.

It looks like you're getting your ideas through a bong, to be honest. Strike that, it looks like Charleston Gardens through a bong. It's one thing to have a plan, it's another to have a completely un-realistic, boring, pothead amusement park.

What park have you EVER seen that looks like this? I've been to more parks than I can count, and have ridden over 400 coasters (yes, I know, I'm a coaster nerd). Not once have I ever come across a park that remotely resembles this. I'd really like to know what park you had in mind when building this?

Seriously, take the advice here and run with it. Saying "I have a plan" doesn't mean shit unless you can back it up and give people a reason to come back. If it wasn't for your ignorance and these guys pwning you, I wouldn't be coming back to the thread, and I don't think others will either.

I hate contributing to this topic, but the whole idea that you spent time on this just cannot be legitimized because there is nothing, and i mean absolutely nothing, that shows you spent a significant amount time building or planning this. I mean what you need to do is start over again, but what are the chances you're gonna actually going to listen to this advice since you haven't even listened to the more sensible advice that has been given throughout this whole topic.

Because right now, I'm guessing that you've only been to your local carnival while on acid.

Actually that would probably be a lot more interesting.

^ Speaking of which, what ever happened to Fatha's drug themed park?

Back on topic, I just noticed that you don't even have benches or trashcans on the main paths! How the hell am I supposed to sit down? Where do I put my trash?

Looking at it from a realistic perspective, the park shouldn't have even opened. Path lights? A clear safety hazard at night (assuming your park stays open that late).

I'll give you credit for adding fences, but you still have a lot of work to do to make this park interesting.

Try building some parks where you aren't restricted to a time line. Time line parks probably aren't as easy to build because something that you think of might not even be invented yet. Also, download some custom scenery like I said before. I have no idea how to do that, so you should probably ask CD5 or some other person who knows how to use RCT3. If you start using custom scenery, everything probably won't look as blocky.

Even using the brick or tile or shingle rooves from the game will help too.

tE, I said pwn once. fraroc, it may be easy, but you need to think about your park a lot more. The timeline isn't making any sense at all IMO.

What do you mean, there were these kind of rides in 1976!
  • Dark_Horse%s's Photo
Most small parks (I'm assuming this is family-operated) probably wouldn't be able to afford a wooden coaster of that size. Also, it doesn't take two years for a park to add 3 rides, a coaster, a big block with food and restrooms, and some flowers and trees. Try here to get an idea of how parks grow and develop.

If you don't start shaping up your park now, your park won't have a timeline past 1977

Agreed. Holiday World (the only park I know like the back of my hand) didn't get it's first coaster (The Raven) until 1995--49 years after the park opened. And Raven, though it is an incredible ride and my second favorite woodie, is puny compared to the coaster you have. It's next coaster, (Legend), wasn't built until 2001. That's a six year gap. The Voyage came in 2007, five years later. Using this information, it's a fair bet that Holiday World will have a new coaster within the next two years. Three at most. (And dammit, they need a GCI!)

Anyway, enough rambling. I'll keep an eye on this park for another couple of (time line) years, and see if you make some improvements. If I don't see any, I'll probably stop viewing this thread. We want to help you, but if you're not going to take our advice, then what's the point of returning?

What do you mean, there were these kind of rides in 1976!

Yes the coaster and rides are correct for the period however I'm sure lamps, benches, flowers, trash bins, and buildings were around in the 1970's.

Here is a question I really hope you answer.

What is it about CD5's park that you love about it?

Let me help you. The below pictures are taken from CD5's park from 1974 which is a great example of what a park would look like back then. What do these SS's have that your park is missing? By no means am I saying you should copy or even be at this level. CD5 has much more experience than you do at the game and pulling this off is not something anyone can do however even if you incorporate the basic elements that a park from this time period has other than just the rides, you would be leaps and bounds better than what you have right now. I get the feeling you are only interested in a timeline park for the rides and nothing else. If that is true, then don't expect any feedback because anyone can drop a flat ride or build a basic coaster based on a timeline and drop it on a flat piece of land.

So again "What is it about CD5's park that you love about it?" Once you answer that, try and apply that answer to your park.

Have you tried a park without a time line? And also, how could a time line be easier? The only thing that's different is that you're restricted to fewer ride types.
