Welcome to the 9th season of Indiana Funland! We have some big crowds to start off the new season! Mabye it's because of our new mammoth coaster named Rattlesnake!
Avery Ross
really big crowds!
Golly gee! I wonder why.......
Many people are itimidated by Rattlesnake. It's enormous up close!
Many daring thrill seeker ride at their own risk!
The loops are not as forceful as Venom's eliptical loop (Venom is a shwartzkopf guys), but they still pack a punch!
The Batwing inversion is considered to be the climax of the ride.
I can see that mother nature is turning on us, so i'm done here!
See you soon! -

How the heck does this park afford these coasters? It's able to afford a large woodie, arrow looper, as well as a Schwarzy in a matter of years?
Either way, this coaster doesn't look too bad. It could use some work, however. The area around it is a large field. Add trees to the surrounding area to at least make it look authentic. I don't think a company would pick a completely flat, tree-less square of land to build their park. Add surroundings to the whole park, not just around the paths. It'll look better in pictures.
Also, in the second picture, can you please tell me at least 1 time when you have seen that many of the same tree in one spot? It looks horrendous as do the "angled" path and the western bushes in the go-karts. You need to take more time in your building fraroc. -

you do know that Indiana Funland is NOT family owned. It's owned by an undisclosed company. -

I don't know that actually, so you can't tell me that I know that.
Either way, even if it is owned by an "undisclosed company," I don't think a park that small in size would have these coasters in that small amount of time. -

Vary the foliage a bit more, as well as knocking out some of your path fencing. It might give guests a secluded feeling from the rides and scenery. They're not cattle; they know to not go on the grass.Edited by Phantasia, 28 May 2010 - 10:38 PM.

Mini-update time! Today, I got the chance to take a stroll around my park off duty today. My friend David Walsh showed me how to crop out the unwanted bits of my photos.
Warm Regards, Avery Ross
The main midway.
I managed to take a backseat ride on Rattlesnake! What a rush!
Sunset falls upon Indiana Funland. I will see you guys all soon! -

How come you're not taking everyone's advice? The only advice you've taken recently is to get rid of the borders on the pictures. The main reason people post pictures here is to get feedback, and you're getting feedback. You're just not listening to anyone's feedback. -

This was only a mini update for pictures. All Mr.Ross did was take some pictures of the park so far.Edited by fraroc, 29 May 2010 - 11:14 AM.

Yeah, but they've been looking the same for months now. Even when you 'added' foliage, you barely put any thought into it and it shows. This was only a mini update for pictures. All Mr.Ross did was take some pictures of the park so far.

Fraroc, do you think coasterdude5 just started playing in his SFSC park or actually had planning going into it?
Think about what that means and get back to us when you do.

^Then let's see them. In all seriousness, don't just post pictures as if you just went outside to take some. We've already seen all of this stuff many many times. I say work on the park for at least a week without posting an update. Don't just do it for the heck of it. The park has improved, but you still have a lot to learn fraroc.

Fraroc, first of all calm down. We understand that you have "huge plans," but instead of continually showing us bare land, show us what these plans are. Many of us spending weeks, even months planning out our parks and getting all the little details figured out, from which tree to use to where a coaster will cross a path. I have given you some useful suggestions throughout the topic, I suggest you take the time to go back and read what I (and others) have said. At least try them; if you don't like them, then you can unchange (?) it. Also when taking screens, look at the screenshot and say to yourself "Would I find this on a theme park website? If I was a visitor to this park, would I take a photo from this angle?"
AS for your screens, I see improvement, which is a good thing. However, here are some more suggestions:
1) put a different ground texture under the path. This will give it a bordered look.
2) You don't need fencing all around the path, as someone stated earlier people aren't cattle. IF you are trying to make this realistic, people will have enough intelligence to stay off the grass on their own (as opposed to the RCT peeps).
3) It would be a good idea to put fences around the low zones of the coasters.
4) add ride operator booths to the flat rides, and coaster stations.
5) fix up the location of the ride signs. take a look at some real parks and see where they put ride logos. this usually is on the station or the over entrance to the queue line.
I really hope you will take the time to read this, and do some of the things that people have suggested. You don't have to do it all at once, but at least try a few and if you don't like it, then that's ok. Lastly, don't try to update every day. If you look at any of the topics in the AD, most are updated once a week maximum. Even coasterdude5 didn't post every day. The reason he could update every couple days though is most likely because he had more stuff built than you have. I really would like to see you improve. -

Fraroc as a fellow RCT3 player I have some advice. If I was you I would take a small break form the park for a bit. During this time I would pick a image or photo off the internet that you liek the look of relating to rollercoasters, amusement/theme parks or just general architecture or even foliage and try and recreate this as best as you can. It dosent matter however if you dont manage it just try. Afterwards play around with what you've built or build off another image. Then use these ideas that you have to develop your own ideas and styles to incorporate into your park.
Its what I do and although I'm not up there with the best at all it certiantly improved my park making skills no end.
Cheers
