yay for double negatives! Did you see my cherubim drawing in color? That isn't demonic, nor is my kingdom hearts advertisment. Cherubim are a type of (nonfallen) anelic beings from the description of the bible. My brain may be fucked up by the devil, but it isn't completely. Art is defined by the artist just like a peom. There are special techniques to use and stuff but I'm using photoshop. Art isn't when you draw something cool because you feel like it, you do it to express yourself. When I drew those demons I was obviously feeling negative and focussing on a certain scenerio. When I made the cherubim drawing I was feeling very positive, thus I expressed myself using color and concepts. The kingdom Hearts drwaing is fan art, which is also a form of art. What's the prob? -

alright here goes
Bassicly the idea was to take a bunch of trash and pile it up so that when you shined a light on it the shadow made something. The shadow is supposed to be downtown manhattan pre-9-11.
On the way to the show most of the skyline sortoff fell part. This is at the art show, which posed the problem that everyone elses art needed light, which kindoff screwed up my shadow, then I had problems with the flashlight not working, and things got worse when the AC in the showroom shut off and the hot glue holding together began to melt as you can see most of the skyline looks pretty bad, but the WTC, World Financial center Center and what is supposed to be trump tower are all clearly visible.
Problematic as it was Im still pretty proud, I think I was 13 when I made it.
Some things to point out
-there are several newspaper articles about war, famine, etc. You can see some burning oil wells in iraq very clearly in this picture.
-The north WTC tower's antenea is made from can tabs, which has no symbolism but looks cool
-The purple and green thing also on the north tower is a jump rope handle from the art teachers daughter. We played around with it and accidentally broke it. It counts how many jumps and when I looked at it after it broke it said 911.
-The statue of liberty is a toy soldier.
-There is an article over the "fresh kills" landfill in NY where most of the remains of the WTC were taken, ironic since this is made out of trash.
Also check out my flickr, there is some SFFT stuff, cityscape from dallas, fort worth and chicago, alaska and seattle and some other junk. most of its crap though.

that's pretty cool and there's some interesting themes going on there. just curious, where did you come up with the idea for this? -

the shadow thing was a requirement for a middle school art project, all it had to be was something with a shadow. I dont remember how I came up with the idea to use trash but Ive always been a fan or architecture and have always loved the World Trade Center. -

Awsome verti! All mainly black and white but still, much better than anything I could do. @Austin55 interesting, never thought of art much in a physical aspect exept for clay n stuff, but that's like a whole new idea for photography art, nice! Almost looks like something that would be in a magazine.
My avatar being my newest piece, not really that 'artsy' how you like it rrp, but I like it because it reminds me of myself and rootbeer.. -

Couldn't have anything to do with this guy's art, could it? I don't intend anything malicious, it just seems pretty obvious to use trash if you've ever been forwarded a shitty chain email story for your parents or an annoying coworker.the shadow thing was a requirement for a middle school art project, all it had to be was something with a shadow. Actually, Ive never seen that before but thats very cool. Thats proboblly where the teacher got the idea from, she probablly is the one that said something, since I think a few other people used trash to. I think the main reason was actually because she said we could get stuff from the schools recycling dumpsters so all the kids wanted to go dumpster diving.
Ehh.
I did see this one though -

'The Biblical Beast' Sketch
This is gonna be one loOOooongg project of mine. Not much to look at yet, I still need a background, the facial expressions could use some work, and oh yeah, then there's the body to put the seven heads on lol. Most of my work posted here is just fucking crap, mainly because I have a HUGE tendency to rush my work (because I can't wait to see the final result). Anyways, I need a bunch of critiques to make this look just right.
Its gonna be a seven headed leopard with ten horns and ten crowns upon the horns; with the mouth of a lion and the feet of a bear. This creature will be coming out of the sea and many people bowing down to it (the people will be tiny compared to it!) As the title shown, this is the description of the beast that has that famous mark of 666 with features all acoording to the bible had to give in apearance.
Thank you for any suggestions! -

Main suggestion: Don't use filters enough for them to take over the piece. I can actually tell which one you used, and that's never really good.
