    A++
Looks pretty damn good. Seems like a hell of a lot of work. I know you've always wanted to do this kind of stuff so glad to see you doing it!

Sorry, already working on a project with it. :p

Love the concept SoCal. Too bad it never is gonna translate that well to rct though :(/>.
    Ah well.

Anyway, this is an image I have been working on during a 3D course using Maya. Modeling in Maya I gave up after the first tutorial we had to deliver as it is just too frustrating if you are used to the ease and magic of Sketch-up. Maya is just so rigid and has way too many options to learn in such a short time. Thank god our uni has a small renderfarm considering this had to be rendered on 4K resolutions to be able to print it on A1/A0 format. Looked quite nice on A0 photo paper although that needed a brightness and contrast correction of 100%/40% (luckily I could test this properly on A4 with my own damn good printer :)/>). Added the rest of the effects with Photoshop. The smoke was so easy with the proper brushes, it was amazing.
Overall I'm quite satisfied, although the lower part could have been better. Had a lot of trouble with water and the pit to look decent enough to warrant printing. Looking at other student's work I also realized that I made it way too hard for myself once again (an annoying tendency I seem to have) . The more you model the more you have to texture and map. Getting lighting correct in this kind of scene is a bitch as well. Might be playing around more with it creating a more simple scene.

edit* : this is the full 6MB 4K pic so it can take a short while to load if your internet is slow

^ I'm not developing it for RCT.

Since I'm now a NextGen member in the Themed Entertainment Industry, I'm trying to excercise my creative design by developing entire concepts that could theoretically be built.

Essentially I'm practicing for real industry work.

Currently I need to work on the story before I proceed further. If there's anything you need to know about creative design in the industry, it's that story comes first.

I've recently been drawing more manga style than the realistic drawings I used to do. Here's a drawing I did over the summer for an anime-based contest:

Thats brilliant! You've really captured the manga style, even down to the shading :)

Working on some simple posters for several of our on-site activities at the resort. I'm a little inspired by vintage Disney attraction posters:]

Still lots of room for improvement though!

The turtle and lagoon posters are a bit dark in my opinion, but otherwise, cool!
  • In:Cities%s's Photo
Thanks man! Yeah, I do need to brighten them up quite a bit. Still a work in progress though:]

I saw these on facebook and thought they were fantastic!

    You deserve a raise!
  • Pacificoaster%s's Photo
Wow Josh. Those are fantastic! Excellent work. I really love the Kayak and Lagoon ones. The only thing I dislike about the Turtle one is the sign in the sand. Other than that, those are great!

As for my "art" goes, I started an Intamin Wheel Assembly in AutoCAD Inventor the other night. I plan to make an entire train with custom body.

    I wrote a poem:

[poem removed for use in a contest]

I'll post it back up if it loses, for whoever will notice this.

@Pacificoaster: Nice wheel assembly, I also love messing around with Inventor when I get a chance, but usually for purposes of designing motor mounts and enclosure boxes for projects I aim to build. Eventually, when I get my 3D printer up and running next fall, I'll be trying to print those out for certain projects (such as an Arduino and Raspberry Pi case to start).

@MorganFan: really like the poem, nice choice of words and stanza structure

I just wanna share something, this is my Nemesis fan art, that I made about a year ago. I do think that this is one of the most challenging aerial view that I had drawn. because Nemesis' layout is just so dynamic and 3 dimensional. But I really enjoyed drawing it :D/> too bad the rendering is fading.. the paper type and color doesn't work well. I also used ballpen. TBH I never been on any coaster except for a Vekoma boomerang coaster and I only based this on relating the pictures I've printed :)/> so I'm not sure If I'm really accurate with this thing.
