RRP is there anything you aren't negative about, maybe I should post this in your 'good ways to cheer yourself up' topic but you'd be amazed at what having a more positive attitude towards things brings in return.
I agree with you Roomie, England have shown nothing in their 3 warm up games to suggest they will pose much of a threat to the tournament favourites but I am hoping they are saving themselves! -

Fair enuf. I must admit it can be a bit overwhelming at times and some of the crap the papers try and run as legit 2 page stories is laughable. -

Do any of you guys know how drogba's doing? I heard he like broke his elbow or something, but it appears he might have recovered already from that... I really need to know since I have placed a bet on him as the top scorer from an african country (part of the larger bet I mentioned a few posts ago). -

Ah poor you. Why don't you put your tv on a fire, it would solve your problemI cant wait till its over to be honest. The sooner england get knocked out the better. All this over the top patriotism makes me feel sick. Special thanks goes to the media for telling me about it every half an hour aswell

Yes, the vuvuzelas really suck and destroy the real atmosphere of a football-match!
but aparently they are a part of the south african culture, in the fact that they are blown all through african matches. (going from wikipedia here)
so surely if the whole point is for an 'african' world cup experience then by removing them we are just having a standardized world cup. if that makes sense. -

^I saw a program on tv where some locals told they never really use those vuvuzela's anymore in regular football matches. It was explained it was rather a marketing tool and by telling it is part of the African culture be able to make some huge profit out of it (and they succeeded).

Man, they just aired a compilation of the WC 94' on swedish TV, where sweden grabbed the bronze medal... It really gave me the chills. I was only 4 at the time so I have no actual memories of it, but still, when one watches it one understands how legendary that world cup, and that swedish team, is from the perspective of a swede. We played some nice football back then and had a fantastic mentality, I think those things are missing today TBH. I said a way back in this thread that I was glad Sweden wasn't participating, but seeing what we achieved 16 years ago kinda makes me regret that we aren't... There would be no chance of repeating that feat again for us though.
Only 15 hrs to go. -

I doubt you would have seen much action from zlatan even if we were participating; he hasn't been a part of the national team for a while now. Mainly because of his big ego, he considers himself too important to play national friendlies or even qualifiers to the EC or WC, he just wants to play in the "real" games. Also he has sucked balls the latest games he played for Sweden before he dropped out. So, if sweden were to play in the WC, I think he'd definately change his mind, but I doubt he'd get a spot. We've been playing with Toivonen and Berg upfront for some time, and they're doing a great job. I think that for the next WC, we'll be a team to look out for, without Ibra. -

I didn't get that... There was a south african player on the goalline?? How could Vela be offside? -
Tolsimir Offline
The guy on the goal line was like normally the goalie. The keeper was more forward than vela That's the way offsides works
Goalie ... Vela ... Guy on goalline -

The rule is 2 Defenders need to be behind in order for it to not be offsides. People always forget that the goalkeeper counts as a defender in that situation. The defender was on the line, behind the shooter, but the goalie was in front of the shooter, thus the offsides.
